We went to Mogan for our first lunch in Gran Canaria and selected El Caldero based on Foursquare's ratings. This proved to be a disaster with Languistine Paella with no trace of meat and paid 42 USD for 2 portions of slimy rice. The cockroach infested washroom was complimentary though. I am a restauretaur too and usually avoid writing reviews... More

Tapas deal for 14 euros for lunch send good but not much food. Supplied with bread but not told there was a charge. Overcharged for sangria. On one menu half a litre was 6.50 but we were charged 9. Then checking the menu again (must have been a different print) it was 8. I only paid what I should have... More

We stopped off for a spot of lunch here following a recommendation from a friend. The place was packed at 12.30pm. We had a bottle of water, jug of refreshing sangria, garlic bread which was fantastic and the piece de resistance, lobster paella. Few bits of other seafood mixed in there too, overall superb flavour. First taste of Gran Canaria,... More

We had the lobster paella, and it was easily the best meal we had during our week in Puerto de Mogan. Great service and friendly, knowledgeable and funny waiters. Try the lobster paella and the Zarate Albariño!

I live in Gran Canaria and this is one of my favourite restaurants...its very hard to find a restaurant where the first, second and dessert...all three are excellent! Try the chefs salad for starters, paella for second and the chocolate coulant. Yummy!!!

Located on the promenade across from the beach is El Caldero, so a lovely spot to eat. A very impressive menu - they call this place ' the house of rice ' - paellas, risottos, brothey rice, noodles and meats, fish and salads. So plenty to choose from ! On our first visit, we had a lunchtime salad, I had... More

This restaurant has a nice location by the beach, but the food did not fully meet our expectations. We had paella of fish and shellfish. It was good, but we had better ones. The servings were very large and we did not manage to finish it all. We could have skipped the starter, if we had known about the large... More

We ate here many times during our holiday mainly in the early afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner (believe me you will not need to eat again in the day!!) The restaurant does not open every evening and is very popular with locals so in the height of the season a booking would be advisable. The paella takes about 45... More

This restaurant is very easy to pass by walking the beach promenade of Puerto de Mogan. But that would be a shame. Come on Sunday and you shall be lucky to get a table because of all the locals having their paella. And where the locals go you better go too. We have had paella twice and tapas once and... More
