Scallywags restaurant has become a favorite for locals and tourist alike. Food is shipped in daily, with organic greens from Bali. The beautiful island location and the freshest food on the island makes it a great place for breakfast, lunch, sunset, dinner and party nights. Scallywags is the original and the best place to enjoy our nightly BBQ, starting at 6pm. Guests can choose from a large range of sashimi grade fish and Australian imported steaks, to name a few. A complimentary salad bar is included for all BBQ items. Not hungry? Our trained bartenders can whip you up an amazing refreshing cocktail for you to enjoy while soaking up the views over the ocean.

Visited around 7.30pm after walking along the main strip with no plans; a little confusing as to what the options are as there is a big push on the buffet option but there is a great a la carte menu too.
Once sat down we were served by a chap named Anto who was fantastic; knowledgeable on the menu, friendly and helpful with the wine list and all round had a great keenness for making our experience positive... he successed
2 main courses, one was good and one was very good (snapper) but we would day the food is great value for money
All in all, a great meal on the beachfront water in a relaxing environment with great staff. Nice one Anto!

Food was ok, very expensive compared to the other restaurants around, especially vegetable kebab, they didnt put the price for vegetables kebab (its only a bit of tomatoe, corn, carrot, eggplant and zucchini). 95k for that, which i think its a rip off. Go somewhere else for bbq, dont think its worthed the money

Here on honeymoon with my husband, we'd walked past the BBQ & grill at Scallywags a few times, eyed up the fresh seafood and meat, and decided to treat ourselves on our last night on Gili T. It starts around 6/6:30pm and it's always popular so best to get there as soon as possible for a good spot on the beach under the palms and festoon lighting (they also have seating inside). You can pick from their extensive menu or go for the seafood/meat grill, which we did (veggie skewers also available). Choose your food (some have set prices, others depend on weight), it's cooked for you while you grab a salad from the salad bar, and then it's delivered to your table. Absolutely delicious! We went back for more, haha. Fantastic service too, superbly friendly staff - our waiter was called Arya and he was extremely attentive, replacing our cutlery between courses, clearing our used plates and glasses as soon as we were done with them, and looking after us really well (thank you!) - and a lovely setting next to the waves rolling in. It's just before the main bars on the eastern side so it's a very convenient location but isn't hectic or loud at all.
The price was less than we'd pay back home in the UK for what we consider a 'special meal' to celebrate our last night on this beautiful island, and worth every penny!

My wife and I came for having a dinner.
At around 1 meter from the ocean the lobster was hard and impossible to eat.
We waited 25 minutes for a beer and mojito
The fillet steak was so spicy and the plate was full of blood that was disgusting!!!!!

A great spot to dine on the beach - fresh seafood, great service, very fresh, delicious and affordable. Don't miss out - this must be on your dining list when staying on Gili T - we loved this restaurant!! It's all lit up at night with lanterns and festoon lights, you're on the sane, looking at the ocean, eating fresh seafood and you can choose any option with affordable drinks. Definitely go here and eat one night!!!

We went to this restaurant after it received a great review in my guide book. The atmosphere was nice but there are tons of restaurants on the beach with a similar atmosphere. The food was decent but not good and it seemed over priced. Note that they specifically state on the menu that several of the fresh seafood items are flown in from the Pacific ocean - they were fresh but note that you're not necessarily eating local seafood.

Just what you would want for a seafood buffet on an absolute tropical paradise. I enjoyed all the selections of food and the veggie buffet was packed with great options. The beer was cold too, so what’s not to like about bbq seafood on the beach with cold beer and a salad

The staff were really friendly, had a great choice on the menu. We both had the lamb shank with red wine gravy and mash potatoes, it was like a little piece of home. We also loved the fact of how honest the place was, there was no service charge or tax unlike most places. I would definitely eat here again

The food and venue are great. It is right on the beach.
The bbq food is served hot and fresh, however you might not get a side for every dish you order. We ordered 5 meals from the bbq, but only received the side dishes for 3 of these. Drinks can take a long time to arrive, and again are often missing a drink. We had to ask 3 times for a second bottle of water.
The music was nice and chilled, however it became annoying as it was being played over a windows device that had notifications turned on. So every few minutes a different notification sounded over the music.
Great food, but needs work on service and acoustics.

Lovely restaurant with table literally on the beach, beautiful setting and food is sublime.
Fresh fish and meats to choose from freshly cooked and unlimited salad…so why only a 3/5 review you may ask…all that is good about this place, food and setting is let down by just shoddy service. Waiters take and order for 4 drinks, walk 5 paces away and forget what you’d ordered or even the fact you ordered anything!!!
When drinks eventually arrived, 3rd time of asking a gin and tonic was knock all over the table by the waiter, who then used one of the guests napkin to partially mop up the table and then disappeared.
When he showed up again it was as if he’d never seen us, been to the table or even bought any drinks over and certainly no offer to replace the spilt drink
Sort the service out with this place, make the waiters attentive, keen to serve and to actually remember stuff and you have a winner, until then i wouldn’t return and thats a shame to say

Greeted warmly upon entry! Been here many years ago and can see the upgrade in the service and facilities.
Staff were very attentive -
Ordered:
-6 king prawns | 3 calamari | 3 chicken kebab | comes with either choice of baked potatoes, rice or fries, unlimited salad bar.
Ordered some cocktails one of the order was wrong but wasn’t a big deal with us as they were so apologetic.
3 beers - cost $150 AUD for 3 adults :)
Yes probably on the higher end of price range for Gili but wanted to treat ourselves.
Will be back again. Tremakasi.

Returned to Gili T after 12 years and considering that they had a massive earthquake 5 years ago the island is absolutely amazing. Everything has been rebuilt better than before. We dined at Scallywags as they have a fabulous seafood and meat BBQ, with salad and potato of your choosing mashed or baked. I ordered the local eye fillet and it was cooked to perfection as I like it medium+. The wine selection is the best on the island we had a very nice bottle of French Rose in fact we had 2 between 4 of us.
Scallywags has doubled in size when they rebuilt after the earthquake so if it rains they have dining upstairs for all the patrons. Had a wonderful night with our feet in the sand with a lovely breeze a truly memorable evening. Thank you to the staff you made it a wonderful time.

After returning from our snorkelling trip we asked at Scallywags if we could book for dinner, and they replied that they don’t take bookings, but if we arrived around 7 we would be fine.
So we arrived at 7, got a table and sure enough watched the tables fill around us.
Scallywags has a full menu to order from, with all the usual suspects of basic Indonesian, pasta and Mexican, and the kids being spaghetti bolognese connoisseurs ordered from that menu and gave the spaghetti the thumbs up. However the real star at Scallywags is the BBQ. There is a wide range of meat, seafood and skewers to choose from which are cooked up fresh, and served with either jacket potato or fries, with a salad bar as well.
We ordered the pork chop, calamari and swordfish, which were all cooked to perfection with a little kiss of garlic butter to finish off, and the salad bar was a welcome addition of veggies to our holiday diet. Service was friendly and quick, would thoroughly recommend eating at Scallywags.

My partner and I had a late lunch here. The tapas share platter was good, included a everything on the starter menu. The chicken quesadillas were our favourite. It was happy hour and we had a few cocktails too- great frozen daquiri's!

Beachside BBQ restaurant. You pick your meat or fish from the counter which is then cooked to order. Includes a salad bar. Lobster was ok but cold jacket potato. Too many nicer restaurants on the island.
