Stayed at the hotel and enjoyed some excellent freshly cooked food using local produce. There is a good choice of wine and Jane can advise on these. The restaurant has a relaxing environment and there is sufficient space for the tables.

Fabulous dinner. Food was presented and cooked beautifully - every mouthful a delight. Was here on holiday - if I lived closer would be eating here every week. Absolutely delicious ! Service was great. Plus beautiful setting. If you are in the area don't miss the opportunity.

We had dinner at the restaurant two evenings in a row. The menu is not very long, but still with a good variation from day to day. The goats cheese with red onion marmalade was served with home baked sourdough bread, then Venison tenderloin Wellington style and the safe option the Rib Eye steak was enjoyed the first day, followed... Enjoyed a three night stay over Christmas and was spoilt with lovely hospitality. The dining room in particular offers a very romantic feel because of the ambiance that has been very tastefully created by Jane and John. A special mention for Monica who very ably and personally assists Jane with all the front of house duties whilst John 'below deck'... More

5 star food and hospitality. Wonderful menu with plenty of choice. An extensive wine list of which Jane is very knowledgeable. Great ambience in a cosy intimate setting.

The Coleridge aims high in terms of its standards and ticks many boxes with food provenance and local sourcing. I could not fault the crab arancini or lamb rack both of which demonstrated the skill of the chef and good imagination in terms of both presentation and content. Really good wine as well without the need to include excessive mark... More

This restaurant is the dining room of a small country hotel. We didn't stay there, but just had dinner. It's tiny, but very relaxed and intimate. The lounge where you can have drinks and order is like a family sitting room: comfortable and relaxing. The dining room is small, but with plenty of space between tables to allow private conversations.... More

We ate here while staying in a self catering cottage, and were pleasantly surprised at how friendly the owners and staff were, considering it is a small country hotel with a few rooms (that appear to be beautiful from the website). Sometimes small hotels can be unwelcoming to non residents, but the atmosphere was very relaxed. The food was excellent,... More

A must! Great cooking, of locally sourced produce by chef John. He has grasped the essence of his produce and creates great tasting, beautifully presented seasonal food. The wine list does the restaurant credit too.
