We had a real nice moment at the trattoria del porto, me and my wife. When we arrived, unfortunately the terrace was fully booked. So we were offered a table inside, in front of an open window with a stunning view on the lake Como! So we were glad we had not booked a table upfront :-). The friendly staff... More

Little trattoria on a lovely spot on the lake, accessible by ferry and walking down 300 steps through the village of Careno. Run by two friendly brothers who inherited the restaurant from their parents, they will also give you tips about what to do in the area. Traditional food from Como lake, cooked following the original recipes. Try Missoltini con... More

This restaurant is a little trickey to find but once you arrive the service and food is fantastic. Primarily a locals restaurant costing 35 a head for 5 courses plus as much homemade wine as you can drink then limoncellos served in a large bottle again drink the homemade limoncello until you have had enough. The flavours were excellent and... More

The best things in live are simple. So is this lovely Trattoria. It's romantic, it has a great lake view and the food is just delicious! The best thing is it is very good value for money and you dont need to spend lots of energy on your food decisions. The menu is short, simple and just the best local... More

We took the ferry over and went to the church and the beach before our meal. Its a fish centric menu and all of the dishes were different tastes than we have experienced in other areas in Italy. A few of the dishes seems very close to Jewish dishes we have at home - including smoked whitefish and a trout... More

Beautiful view, extraordinary service, and a three-course fish dinner that was simply fantastic! Three courses of fish may normally sound like too much, but here each course was inventive, fresh, and delicious ... culminating with delicious perch and rice that made us glad we'd left room (which was hard :-)! Then, beautiful cheese and dessert, and homemade limoncello, all included... More

Arriving after a full day out on the ferry, Antonio met us and gave us the keys to the lovely little church nearby for us to view whilst waiting for the restaurant to open, having first warned us that there was no pizza or spaghetti bolognese on offer as this was a restaurant providing "fresh from the lake" fish dishes.... I know everybody is raving about this place, this is why we came. But unfortunately, we were disappointed! Firstly, you need to be very sure of foot to climb down and back up again in the dark, with no street lights, and no signs to let you know that you are on the right track. The place is pretty, but,... More

You will feel like home while having the best meal in the area. No other words are needed, just go there! Make sure you know where is the trattoria because it's hard to find on google maps.
