We spent 2 days in Gargnano and had a fine dinner for 4 at La Baia d"oro. The waiter recommended the local Ombrina fish, fresh out of the Garda lake. it was outstanding, all white, firm meat. others had the gamberi and spaghetti vongole. For wine we had the Lugana alla casa. at 22 Euros, very reasonable. The conto was... More

Multiple visits to Gabrielle on the lake side terrace. Yes he's smooth, yes it's all a show but yes it's a magnificent setting with more than supporting food to match

The location is very lovely (like most restaurants in Gargnano). The food was good/ average and the service was attentive. However, the prices are astronomical. We paid 140 euros for a good/ average 3 course vegetarian meal for 2 which cost us half that price everywhere else in Gargnano. The vibe here is also not great - it feels like... More

The food is unquestionably good. A traditional, home cooked feel to the menu. Uncomplicated and very tasty. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, the waiter never let up with the hard sell. We were asked if we wanted more wine three times and the grappa trolley was brought 'round (lit up like a christmas tree - hilarious) after we'd said... More

The location is wonderful, the food is excellent and the owner very clever: he brought us an extra dish (not ordered) that at the end we have found in the bill. We have asked for wine by glass , we drank 2 each and at the end we payed the whole bottle, without having the possibility to finish it.

This is one of the more expensive places in Gargnano, and rightly so. The outdoor seating has an enviable view over the lake. The food was perfectly good but there was no attempt to ‘wow’. It was none the worse for that though. Service was impeccable and the grappa collection rounded off a very fine meal.

We stumbled across this small hotel and were the only couple there for lunch. This was due to the fact that most visitors arrived by boat and the weather on this particular day was poor. However, we had a simple, pasta lunch which was excellent. We vowed to return on an evening and this we did a few days later.... More

Great location and good food at reasonable prices, get a table at the end of the restaurant overlooking the lake. Great fresh lake fish and good home-made pasta

A small restaurant looking out over Lake Garda serving very good home-made pasta and other local specialties, also lake fished is perfectly cooked in the traditional way - also a good well-priced wine list from local producers
