I didn't know this restaurant was one of the four participants in Borghese's show. I booked here simply because I liked the menu and the location seemed very good.
When I phoned to book, it was very kindly pointed out to me that to offer a level of service at all tables they still preferred to work more shifts. Arriving from Bologna and not knowing the place, we opted for 1.30 pm.
Exactly not knowing roads and traffic we arrived about a quarter late. But no one made ugly faces as described in other reviews. In fact, the two waitresses teased each other jokingly because, although I tried to warn them, no one answered the phone.
They accompanied us to a table that in the evening must be enchanting, directly overlooking the hills of Bologna. Not that you miss anything during the day but really too hot!
Menus are brought to us and absolutely no mention is made of tasting menus. Everyone takes what they want. Only hitch and that if one of the table wanted to taste it, it is not possible or all or none.
We all opt for the card and we are then shown the wine list. Really many and ranging everywhere. We let ourselves be tempted by a classic local method, which did not completely satisfy us but still well.
Antica Hostaria appetizer for three (cold cuts, crescentine and Stracchino foam) and a cake with truffles. All great and definitely plentiful. As first courses, two Antica Hostaria ravioli and two spaghetti with friggione, squaqquerone and tarragon. Traditional dishes and cooked in a simple way and with quality ingredients. I overlook the quantities that are typical of Emilia, therefore very abundant, so as not to leave room for desserts that showed off well on a chalkboard and that reading the ingredients must have been really very good.
Coffee for 4 and two bitters for a final bill of 160€. Now, even in these parts we are adjusting to the prices of the "North". Differences is that here we ate and so much so. The last place I was in my city which is Bergamo, cost me exactly the same (40€) for a sad fish appetizer and a glass of Franciacorta. Absurd!

Through the advice of a friend I came to try this little place outside Bologna. Very nice place in the countryside, menu with both traditional and contemporary dishes, always very friendly staff and fast service, prices a little high but the quality I must say is very good. We had a tagliatella with meat sauce, very good, a lasagna with sausage ragout and parmesan crust, €14, good, the porchetta with wild boar belly with barbecue sauce of carrots, beans and spring onion, €20, unusual and this one too good, cheek with mashed potatoes, very good. Ultimately there was something I liked more and something less but absolutely excellent quality, well-prepared dishes and certainly recommended.

On December 1st I celebrated in this restaurant my birthday (an “important” birthday) inviting over 20 friends I care so much and with whom I wanted to make a good impression and we had a great time, eaten excellently (tortellini in broth and Badolo cake unforgettable) always enjoying their maximum attention and care. Well-kept environment with an incredible view. I hope I can celebrate with them even more times.

My husband had booked this restaurant on the fortress of Badolo, to make me relax. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The staff not very cheerful, especially the male waiter. The location although beautiful but we were devoured by a hood of heat both inside and outside, absence of air conditioners inside, both some fans outside under the wooden gazebos. We continue to be devoured by mosquitoes and when food arrived even by flies the only solution is the spray you find on a table, even with embarrassment we began to spray it all over the body and even in the air. We are brought the dishes of the appetizer all greasy and with the finger marks of others, in mine even cheese encrusted, I took the dishes and replaced them all, but so were the others, cleaned with the cloth a little wet. Of course I wanted to leave, but my husband wouldn't, we had ordered by now and he was sorry. Their fresh pasta is really good, even the cold cuts, the green lasagna with hare sauce was dry, it seemed to eat a millefeuille, dry meat sauce and dried meat...... Would I stay there again? No, because you can pass on everything, but with not exactly low prices you can not give greasy dishes still with the previous food encrusted, and be devoured by mosquitoes and flies. Too bad, I hope that in the future it will be active to make up for all these shortcomings. I would also like to say to the waitress who asked her colleague if the gentlemen had paid, that is we..... That before you make any exclamation to look over your shoulder, is to know how to recognize decent people, we paid dear young lady, but surely you do not see our money anymore.

I had booked a table here for today at noon with the commitment to vacate it by 1:30 because more customers would arrive and they did. We started by ordering a bottle of sparkling water, but it came natural and we noticed when we were drinking it, so we kept it. We had come with the intention of taking the menu based on mushrooms and truffles but in the course of work we changed our minds, so we might as well not come here. On our appetizer menu were crescentine with cold cuts, cheeses and friggione. They put on the table a plate that is theoretically clean but encrusted with squacquerone: that cheese is insidious and when it dries on the plate the dish in the dishwasher is not washed well and therefore you should check it before putting it on the table. When we pointed this out to the nice waiter he didn't even apologize, he limited himself and bring another equally encrusted if a little less. At this point I managed to find one in the pile of "clean" dishes that were on the sideboard. The menu was decent with a good value for money but after the story of the plate encrusted we did not eat at ease. The friendliness of the staff is subject to improvement.

... met in their stand set up in the historic Bolognese fair, the Fira of Sdaz: bad experience.
The choice was influenced by the name that refers to local known in the area. Accepting therefore the absence of table service and the use of plastic cutlery and paper napkin, what is not acceptable is the poor quality of the dishes, also accompanied by unqualified bread. The prices, however, were those of the restaurant.
It is therefore surprising the absolute lack of consideration of the customer: it is true that it was in a context of village festival, but I would say that a bad business card was spent.
Hard to think of trying the restaurant itself.

Lunch at Hostaria, nice place with terrace over the valley for a beautiful view. Let's take a Piatto Antica Hostaria (15€), with sliced crescentine and stracchino: crescentine small good with wholemeal organic flour, excellent cold cuts, discreet artisan stracchino, nice portion. We accompany with a glass of Albana sparkling wine (7€), good but served an o' colder. To follow Ravioli Antica Hostaria (12€), not exciting in the filling: I would have preferred more ricotta cheese, too much meat made them cloying in finishing the portion. Then the grilled lamb belly skewer with chanterelles and confit cherry tomatoes (20€), where the meat was too fat for such a light cooking, I would have preferred the skewers with a more consistent grilling. First and second courses we accompanied it with a glass of Sangiovese Marche (5€). To close a mascarpone (6€), discreet.
Nice staff, quick service, average prices.

Four of us had lunch and I must say that we had a very good time, excellent quality food and very welcoming staff. We appreciated the advice on the courses we had ordered which, following what was said by the person who took the order, telling us to reduce the courses, made our lunch even more pleasant. Excellent value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone who finds themselves passing through those parts. Compliments!

We went for lunch on Sunday with two people, remembering the old management before 2020. We took taglioni with truffle, a portion for two and an 8 ounce rib-eye for two. Inedible Giardiniera, potatoes that tasted of nothing, 2 insignificant and tasteless desserts, half a liter of house wine, price 110 euros, madness.
Given the season, we didn't think we would find any dishes with mushrooms.
We will never repeat it again

I was with my wife to try this place intrigued after a famous episode of 4 Restaurants, and I must say that we were pleasantly impressed! Excellent venison liver which was perhaps the best course ever.
There was an incident during dinner, which the waiter resolved as best he could; we all work and we all make mistakes.
Very allergy conscious and very careful and precise when asking about dishes.
Let's admit this place is expensive, but not expensive! The Ă la carte cost of a dish is worth every penny.
Definitely will be back!

Spectacular location as always, family dinner for a birthday. Apart from the fact that €3.50 each for a cover seems a bit excessive for Badolo (not in the center of Florence), dishes with sophisticated names, but with very limited quantities. And the quality wasn't great either. In 2022 we had a good experience, never cheap, but good quality/price ratio. To date, however, terrible

We had a pumpkin pie for two and a 1.2kg steak (not Fiorentina), two glasses of red wine, 145 euros.
The quality of the food was good but frankly going to Sasso Marconi to spend like in Bologna I don't find it honest. I find the cover charge 3.5 excessive. In the bill we found a bitter that we didn't take, it must have certainly been a distraction.
I don't think I'll be back

I booked after having seen the Borghese episode, which had positively impressed me. Unwelcoming service. Very very average dishes, of which one (a saffron rice) was half sent back because it was completely flavourless. We are asked for information regarding the unfinished dish. We explain what was wrong, then nothing. I honestly expected a confrontation with the kitchen or any sign of 'displeasure'. At the end of lunch the owner (a well-known character after the Borghese episode) comes out and, in the middle of the room, shouts on the phone to an (I think) employee, reprimanding him for a mistake made with the cash register. The matter went on for 5 minutes. Very unserious and professional. Having said that, dishes are too expensive and a cover charge (3.5 euros) is madness in Badolo. I won't go back

I had been away for several years and with my wife and a couple of friends we booked a table for dinner. The menu mainly offers traditional local dishes also with themed tasting menus (game, mushrooms and truffles, etc.). We started with potato flan and parmesan cream with white truffle, really excellent. Among the first courses we chose the ravioli from the ancient Hostaria and the sumptuous tagliatelle with ragĂą like those of the past, sensational......We continued with a splendid 1kg rib of beef and a deer stew with polenta and potatoes baked. Among the desserts, not bad are the chocolate tenerina with saffron cream and a chestnut pudding with chestnut cream and chocolate ice cream. Well-stocked cellar with quality labels. Very friendly and efficient staff. Value for money adequate for the type of dishes and drinks chosen (52 euros each) In conclusion, a good experience that I recommend to everyone and that I will personally repeat.

Without going into too much detail I want to praise this splendid restaurant which, apart from the strategic position in which it is located, aroused in me the emotion of tasting truly top quality food. Everything was delicious but I had never eaten tagliatelle with meat sauce like this. I will never stop thanking those who recommended it to me.
