Had a great meal in Bakalo. Staff were genuinely brilliant. Had a brilliant green salad and my wife (very fussy) had an amazing pork dish. Heartily recommended. Yiannis and the team will take care of you. Efharisto to all of the team.
I’ve discovered Bakalo 4 years ago and I had a very good impression of this restaurant that I decided to visit again 3 days ago. And I was not disappointed ! The food typically Greek was as tasty and fresh than in my memories ....I particularly recommend the meat dishes and the bakalomezze as a starter . The owner and the staff were super welcoming and friendly which made the experience even better ! This place is ideal for a traditional and tasty cosy Greek dinner in Mykonos town . I loved it and I will definitely come back! The quality /price balance is also super honest and particularly for Mykonos !More
Came for dinner towards the end of my trip and found it exceptionally good! Not only was the service very friendly, but also was the food a perfect balance of traditional and modern cuisine. All the traditional greek meals are included in the menu and...served in the right amount. Ambience was as perfect as the food - not crowded but still in the middle of Chora to allow a gate away from tourists. We’ll be coming back tomorrow for our last meal in town! Recommended octopus with fried tomatoes and capers, and, for meat lovers, the lamb!More
The food in this place is really tasty and appears to be made from top quality ingredients. It is also great that there is a large choice of vegetarian dishes. No complaints here. However, the prices are so high that it doesn’t feel right any...more. One normal size Tzatziki for EUR 9 (!) or a Greek salad for EUR 13. And I don’t know what they do to the chicken to justify EUR 26 for a Chicken Souvlaki. We had 3 starters and the meatballs (EUR 18) plus bread and dip (charged at EUR 2.50 pp) and one soft drink each to come out at around EUR 70 here, which is pretty close to a rip-off actually. Would not recommend and would not go again, unfortunately. It is simply overpriced.More
We really loved this little taverna.
IMO it was the closest to true Greek food in all the places we ate during our stay.
The service was polite, quick and welcoming. The food was smashing and so tasty.
It might not be a big place but...it packs a punch with value and lovely flavours.
As I stated earlier a really really nice place to eat and people watch.More
Recommended by our travel agent, we hunted around and finally found it! Glad we did. It was rainy out so we could not sit outside, a bit disappointing. But the service and food was terrific. I had the Greek Pasta, which was very tasty. And...my husband had the turkey burgers which he raved about. Great service.More
My husband and I are in Mykonos for our honeymoon and were looking to try more authentic Greek dishes when we came across Bakalo. We ordered the marinated mushrooms, a Greek salad, stuffed mushrooms, and mussaka to share. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! Not only that,...but the waitstaff went out of their way to explain everything we ordered including ingredients used and traditional Greek cooking methods! They take pride in their food and go above and beyond for the customer. At the end of our dinner our waiter took a map of Mykonos and circled beach recommendations and even some restaurant recommendations for us- they also gave us a complimentary liquor the chef makes from a flower at their restaurant. I can’t say enough good things about our experience at this restaurant, definitely a MUST GO when visiting Mykonos!!More
