Fantastic food and experience!

We visited this restaurant on 18/02/23 and it was fantastic. We only briefly mentioned that it was for a birthday and they decorated our table area with a banner etc for us and gave us a complimentary drink this really made the dinning experience very special. The food was absolutely delicious with great portion sizes, the best Indian curry we have had for a while. We loved this restaurant and would definitely return if we came back the area

Fancied a curry after Rotary Santa route

We had just finished a Whitchurch Rotary Santa route in town and really fancied a curry as it was not too late in evening 8:30 ish. So we walked in and asked if they could serve us and they welcomed us warmly. We had a lovely tasty curry plus poppadums and lashings of Cobra draught - its thirsty work being Santa's elves! Service was good and staff were very cheerful and friendly. Their menu had a vast range of dishes but we shared a lamb tikka dhansak with pilau rice and 2 sides of mushroom bahjee and sag alloo (hope I spelled those right). But my husband had recently eaten there before and had their banquet option which looked huge and he very much enjoyed it then.

Had a lovely banquet meal with a few extras. Food was excellent and well presented. Ali and team where very attentive and made you feel extremely welcome. Would just like to say on personal note, what the restaurant did for the local residents during the lockdown was admirable, providing the community and local hospital with meals, during testing times, as NHS workers ourselves albeit from a different area. Thank you. This deserves high praise. Well done team. Keep up the good work.

To be honest I found the food average and the staff not that friendly. To make matters worse I had ordered the 5 course banquet which is offered at £12.95 but when I went to pay the bill they tried to charge me for all the courses individually which worked out considerably more expensive. After making the manager aware he rectified his mistake and gave me a tiny chocolate as some kind of apology. I paid the bill and left. I was not impressed. Why would I order the courses individually when I can get them all for £12.95 ? Strange. Something to be aware of.

Don’t place order for delivery !!!!

Placed an order as was recommended this Indian that will deliver . Placed our order at 17.50 was told our order will be delivered within the hour. At 19.00 was told it’s bagged up and will be delivered within 5 minutes. Rang again at 19.30 and they said they were struggling with drivers but definitely be here within 10 minutes. At 19,45 I rang and just cancelled the order as it was nearly 2 hours from start to finish - very disappointing if they couldn’t deliver should have been informed at the beginning instead of making very poor excuses. Worst experience ever with an Indian takeaway will never use or recommend them to anybody else don’t deserve any custom whatsoever !!!!

Dreadful customer service

Absolutely disgraceful customer service. Manager rude, spoken over customer & blamed customer for their mistake. Will never have a curry from this establishment again. Currys are highly coloured & mediocre tasting, with lots of salt.

Really. You were complaining about not liking the coriander. You said why my colleague didn’t tell you there is coriander on the curry. And we said you didn’t ask us to explain what’s goes on that curry. Only we explain about a curry to customers of they wants to know what’s in a specific curry. Our menu and website has full descriptions what goes on which curry. Still if need to know more information you just need to ask us. Finally when you realised what we are talking about you changed the subject and started calling us rude unprofessional. Now here your subject of complaints totally changed. Don’t know what else to say really 🙈

Good Indian restaurant

This is a small Indian restaurant handily situated on the main road, with a car park across the road. We eat here every so often, as it's way out of our town, but they can guarantee that their Onion Bhajis are gluten free, which is essential for my wife. We always enjoy our evenings at Blue Water as the food and service is first class. Just one minor point though; the interior decor could do with a revamp.

Takeaway meal deal

We are staying in the area for a week and ordered for a takeaway. We opted for the meal deal for 2, with an extra naan, to share between 3. Delivery was within the expected timescale, about 30/40 mins. We all enjoyed the food, there was plenty for 2 adults, 1 teenager. Curries and sides were flavourful and price reasonable.

Wonderful food and mood

We went here on a whim really and I am really glad we did. They did everything possible to make sure the place was not only safe but also welcoming. The food was easily some of the best Indian food I have ever had and I could not compliment them enough on the night. The locals were even lovely. The food was far too inexpensive for what you got and I felt bad paying so little for what was a brilliant meal. The bhajis were my favourite. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting the area.

Best birthday meal

Having been unable to get to our original venue for a birthday meal due to problems with the trains, we found Blue Water Resaurant. From the first step through the door we felt welcomed, the service was polite, our intolerances and choices were carefully noted, the menu explained. Everything was exactly as ordered, and exceptional, cooked perfectly, what more can be said. All in all an exceptional find, we will most certainly return when we visit the area again.

Myself and a colleague did our monthly catch up for a curry and it didn’t disappoint, food is so tasty and the choice is brilliant for myself and colleague who is vegan , such a good choice on the vegan menu and we share the vegan rice garlic and chilli 🌶 which was lovely. The staff are very efficient and always on hand if you need anything. Great atmosphere and good value for money. Ali runs a fab restaurant.

Home delivery order

Thought we would finally have a Indian take away as got fed up of cooking. Saw that Blue Water had a 30% off deal so pre ordered Thurs afternoon for a 8.45pm home delivery. Got a confirmation email. Knew they would be really busy as popular in town but 9.30pm came so got intouch to ask where our order was. Sounded like unfortunately delivered to wrong address or dropped off by mistake on another order as was told it had been marked off delivered. Waited another 20mins for new order to come. 10pm finally got it. Bit disappointed curries not full, half bag of chips it wasn't anything amazing. Glad it wasn't full price. Understand very busy times and mistakes happen. We'll try again maybe when it's all calmed down.

I called in to the restaurant to order a birthday party meal for 12 guests. Ali, the owner was charming and as always, nothing was a problem, even when some of the meals were slightly “off piste” It was delivered exactly on time. All the meals were superb and completely different. The whole meal was faultless. All my guests thoroughly enjoyed the evening and were very complimentary about to food. I would recommend Blue Water restaurant to anyone. Value for money ace.

I have given two stars for this restaurant based on the utterly disgusting dish that was delivered. I would have given 1 star but the starters were okay. We ordered butter chicken. I do not know what it was but it certainly wasn’t like any butter chicken I have ever eaten. Consistency of wallpaper paste and taste to match! Very disappointing!

Waste of money!!

Delivered quickly and driver observed social distancing, unfortunately that's the end of anything positive really. Poppadoms not good, not crispy. Onion Baji was ok but the two Currie's received we're lacking in depth of flavour and chicken was rubbery. They were spicy enough but just heat, no real flavour. Not good really considering the local competitionvery close by. Will not be using again, sorry for the negative review.
