Visited here several times and never disappointed. Superb atmosphere, very relaxed, excellent menu and great staff. Highly recommended.

We stopped in by chance on the way back home to North Wales from a long and tiring drive. We were hungry, thirsty and road lagged but this place really lifted our spirits! Walked into a beautifully modernised but characterful bar/restaurant and warm smile from the barman who chatted cheerfully while offering a wide array of real ales and good... More

I'm running out of fresh words to describe this great place that I haven't already used for other great Cheshire pub. Even though we were a party of nine, all meals arrived together and were hot. Everybody was more than satisfied with their meals and the helpings were more than ample, in fact so ample that most of us couldn't... More

Second visit and second time thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food is delicious, the service superb and friendly and the setting gorgeous, whether you are inside or out! Definitely recommend this to everyone!

The fact that the pub was full on a Monday lunchtime is a testament to the quality of its food. My husband and I ate the fish finger sandwich- absolutely delicious home made fish goujons in a light crispy batter served on bloomer bread with a side portion of chips. One of our friends had mussels and the other fish... More

Reviewed this place some two and a half years ago - and whilst having dined here a few times between then and now, have not reviewed. This time - took Sunday lunch with family, and no change from before, in that the food is very good, and the portions, admirable. Maybe a little on the high side price-wise, but as... More

Incredibly rude staff!! Avoid this place like the plague. Bar man sulking (I think about the Euros) and would prefer to read news paper as oppose to serve customers. His constant 'tutting and sighing' to non-unreasonable requests ie- pint of Carling x2 please, didn't go unnoticed.

Called in here as group of friends. This is one of best pubs I have been to. Its in an old school house so has high ceilings, high windows and a great bar area. Good outside space as well. Had already eaten so didn't have food but it looked fantastic. Well worth a visit.

We called in on way back from Llangollen and we were lucky to get a table as place was heaving. On the advice of our friends, I had the children's portion of fish and chips, which was ample. Other members of our group had fish or beefburgers and everyone enjoyed their meal.

The true mettle of any catering establishment is what they do when things go wrong. Through absolutely no fault of their own, our lunch order got mixed up and it not only took a long time to arrive, but only two of the three dishes appeared initially. There were profuse apologies, a third main course was magically prepared in record... More
