The Chanthorn Restaurant and the Chanthorn Phochana which listed a #1 and #2 are actually the same dining outlet. The sad thing is that it should not call ' Chanthorn' since it represents the name of the town which is Chanthaburi. The unnecessary confusion in this growing town need to be minimized. Our visit to Chanthorn Restaurant or Chanthorn Phochana... More

We went with high expectations as it was recommended by the hotel staff. Food was very so-so, not appetizing as they were mostly pre-cooked, including the stir fried vegetables, they just heat it up before serving to us. Some dishes were cold. Service was quite lukewarm too, overall not very keen. The good thing is there are wide variety of... More

The reviews led us to this place and as we had something to celebrate we wanted somewhere special to eat. The restaurant certainly looked to be something out of the ordinary and we entered with excitement which continued when we read the menu and our lovely refreshing drinks arrived. Unfortunately, when our order arrived our hearts sank. Portion servings were... More

It has a style of family restaurant, not really fancy but cozy. the price is also not quite expensive. Taste good. They have wheel-chair path and high-chair for kids.

Very good local food, spicy taste. Interior a little like a cantine, not very cozy. Staff is eager to help, but English language is poor. Cheap.

Great service! Great food! Easy going ambiance. We are vegetarians but they made one of best fried rice and green curry I have had. Comparable to the best you find in Bangkok.

Pleasant friendly restaurant, nothing flash but good food and service in a busy area. Certainly worth a try as you will not be disappointed.

This branch of the restaurant is close to the historic enclave next to the river. It's not a fancy restaurant but it serves really good local food made with local ingredients and, as an additional plus, sells some really yummy snacks in the small shop on one side of the building (try the young durian chips fried with tiny shrimps).... This is one of 2 sister restaurants. This restaurant is very popular with Thai tourists; Chanthaburi is a popular domestic tourism destination, but almost unknown to western tourists. You absolutely need to try the 2 top specialities of the restaurant. The beef stew, made with chameuang leaves, a dish unique to Chantaburi and the spicy noodles with shrimps. Both dishes... More

Fortuitously, we stayed at a nearby hotel, so we could eat here more than once. There are two chain outlets in town, and both offer an extensive selection of take-away cookies and local treats. Local cuisine is very sweet, such as the celebrated pork soup and crab noodles, but that is not a criticism, as we live in NE Cambodia... More
