We popped in on a Saturday night with no table booked, and we were accomodated straight away asking to eat out side and then moving in. Nothing was too much trouble for the waitress. We both ordered the sirloin steak, this was more like a rump in thickness which was great and cooked exactly as we both asked, leaving only... More

Was taken to the pub by my husband for a birthday meal and had one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The ambience and service were second to none......Congratulations to the chef for a brilliant menu.......fresh ingredients and wonderful tastes. The pub itself is in a delightful location-a bit off the beaten track but so well worth making the... More

Leg 2 of our UK bike tour. Where to begin! What a place! Unique, quaint and absolutely quintessentially English! An old Country pub with bags of character in a very out of the way location which enhances the experience even more. The owners Mary & Richard clearly have made this a hobby as well as a business. For our foreign... More

Unusually for me, I had all three courses and they were all top notch. They seemed to be able to cater for my food allergies O.K.. my only gripe was that the starters were a long time coming and the restaurant was hardly full.

Had a fantastic meal, lovely different veggie options on the menu as well as meat dishes that made my mouth water even tho I don't like meat! They were very attentive even when we asked for extra bits through out the meal, and the owners were also on hand and were warm friendly and went out of there way for... More

Approaching the Cottage of Content is a delight. The impressive river Wye glorious Hereford countryside and quaint villages/hamlets. Inside the pub the decor is perfectly in harmony with the setting. Decorative hops looping over beams and rustic furnishings but not twee. The establishment successfully combines a rural pub bar with an excellent restaurant. My wife and I opted for dinner... More

Myself and five other ladies had a meal here for my sister's hen last weekend. Firstly the pub is stunning - beautifully decorated, quirky and intimate. The staff are wonderful, friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, the menu is varied and the three vegetarians out of our gang were thrilled with the choices. My friend ate her pork belly... This place is in such a beautiful spot, the ancient old timbered building sits well in its surroundings, and the beautiful river sided road to the venue does not disappoint either The welcome from the landlady with a genuine beaming smile is a good start. The waiting staff, although young are well trained and genuinely want to give a good... More
