When you go to a fine dining restaurant you expect to be blown away. Don't get me wrong, the service was good, the place was clean, the environment is fun..... it was just that I have had as good elsewhere for much less.

Really enjoyable, good value, very well prepared interesting food, with an attentive team looking after us. I am ashamed to say we were pleased when they brought us the menu in English. A really pleasant end of day, a spring evening, looking out on the...More

After visiting Louvre we strolled to this restaurant. It was relatively late by French standard 13.30 , nevertheless we were made welcomed. We opted for the main courses only : scallops and risotto , my other friend had lamb shank and I had pan fried...More

A group of 7, all had the menu and there no complaints at all - the menu consisted of two starters, one plat and desert A glitch in the desert delivery - we waited 35 minutes - spoiled an otherwise perfect dining experience

I think 32 euros is expansive for a lunch menu with no beverage and simple dishes (carré de porc, magret de canard). On my opinion the duck magret was under done (very red with blood) even if I asked well done. The magret was also...More

My son has complained that we never take him to top restaurants, so we tried to rectify this. Whilst in Lens for the euro 16 football, we stayed on to visit Marc Meurin's new eatery. The setting is striking and we were relieved to find...More

We visited the restaurant for dinner on a Friday evening whilst staying in nearby Fresnoy en Gohelle. As has been previously mentioned, the restaurant isn't easy to find as its a little off the beaten track but definitely worth seeking out. Its located in the...More

Having looked at customer reviews, decided to try this restaurant. Difficult to locate (it's on the grounds of the Louvre, just inside the North Gate) and when you get there the path leads you to a doorway, which turns out not to be the entrance...More

Marc Meurin is a local lad (he was born in Lens) and he loves fine produce. The two Michelin stars is always bursting with projects and ideas, and when he heard the Louvre was opening in Lens, it just seemed obvious to take the reins of the restaurant at the Louvre-Lens, L’Atelier de Marc Meurin. The restaurant is housed in a transparent bubble placed in the middle of the grounds. With daily specials, its inventive cuisine and its menus guarantee quality and freshness from starter to dessert, « L’Atelier de Marc Meurin » offers a fine selection of wines, local and seasonal products. As Marc Meurin himself observes, "there are so many good things around here, why bother going and getting them thousands of miles away?”. The chef's cuisine is daring, indulgent, and affordable, with a set menu including starter, main dish, and dessert costing about €32.
