Chef Carlos Careres creates unique entrees combining talents learned while studying in Canada with his El Salvadoran background. We ate at his restaurant, as recommended in Frommer's guide, and it was the best meal we had bar none in El Salvador. The steaks were perfection as was the chicken. He is very creative and incorporates many of the local flavours - one of the steaks was prepared with a coffee rub (Juayua being a coffee growing town). Carlos speaks excellent English and is incredibly hospitable. Our whole meal was delicious and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Juayua. Also of note, it was one of the least expensive restaurants we visited while in El Salvador

I got rice and salad which was alright. And my boyfriend had a salad (bit of salad, bit of mangoes, watermelon and cucumber with 2 pieces of bread) for $7! We both left hungry and wondering how come business in small town chooses to destroy...More

Juayua is a small picturesque working town in the Cordillera Apaneca. You just don’t expect to find a fusion restaurant like this in a place like that. They do quite unusual combination of ingredients and at excellent price. For a tenner I tried steak in...More

Had a nice steak dinner in this pleasant restaurant on one of Juayua's main streets. I found the small (4 oz) version to be more than enough food, as it came with a plate of potatoes fried with cheese, rice, and bread. A number of...More

Do not go here, its overpriced and terrible food. We were worried about the quality of the food and the potential health issues with an under-cooked steak in a central american country

Despite initially being a bit reluctant to try a restaurant where the average meal was a whopping $7 (food in this town is so cheap!), we were told R and R was quality and we were not disappointed. We are trying to cut out red...More

I would first like to add my condolences on the passing away of one of El Salvador´s very best chefs. I knew him well from many great eating experiences at his quaint establishment. The restaurant continues with the same wonderful recipes, the same variety of...More
