Absolutely loved that place. Staff was very friendly. Food great, white wine very good. Atmosphere was great, didn't want to leave, it was so cosy.

Charming service and a great atmosphere let down by mediocre and odd food. Starter of seafood salad was a few small squid in a warm cheese sauce served on tired lettuce. For main I had monkfish tail (frozen) in a prawn and mussel sauce - monkfish dry and tasteless, mussels small and salty and prawns replaced by under cooked potatoes... More

We found this place by chance, just walking around, and stopped because of the variety of mussels offered (with cream, with mushrooms, with whiskey, with curry, with goat cheese and honey, with roquefort cheese, with pastis ..). We had them with wiskey and with cream, one kg for about 10 euros each, both quite well. Our boys had pizza and... More

The prices are a lot keener than those down lower on the quayside. The service was prompt and the waiters friendly. The food was probably the best we have eaten in France for a while and my 4 course 11€ menu was a bargain.

A great little restaurant which was a definite favourite when we visited Sete. It serves traditional setoise food and some general food. The menu du jour is great value - four courses for a total of 11.50 euros! Amazing. Delicious food. Definitely worth stopping by here for a meal.

Stopped in for lunch in this very busy little restaurant. The place was packed so service was a little erratic but staff worked hard. Nice décor with all sorts of odd posters, bric a brac adorning walls. Our food was very nice although the pommes de frite were a little undercooked. All in all a nice meal in 'different' surroundings... More

My Partner myself & teenage daughter found this little gem walking along checking out menu boards. I wanted to try some of sète's seafood and this resaurant had a great selection of specials. The efficient waitress explained in detail every item of seafood i had chosen in fluent English. Both my Partner & I chose different seafood sélection, which included... More

A wonderful place, full of interesting objects, even the toilet is worth visiting. There are lots of cards and letters from previous guests all saying how superb the restaurant is, or was, most of them are dated 2005. We chose the €18.50 menu, starters were shellfish platter, ok but very small shellfish, smoked salmon with foie gras, with a tiny... More

Nice atmosphere, original decoration. However the food was not very nice and the service not too friendly. My moules/frites were not debearded and the sauce way too salty, the mussels just werent cooked right either. The gambas were just overpriced, the tase was ok. Altogether a not very pleasant experience.

For someone like me, who doesn't eat shellfish or red meat or things like foie gras, the Bistrot de l'Horloge creates difficulties. I could find only 2 main course possibilities, one of which (a chicken leg quarter) was so hard and tough as to be almost inedible. Strangely, however, the entire experience of eating at the Bistrot de l'Horloge -... More
