Topping my list of favourites in Pondicherry would be the HOTEL DE L'ORIENT on Rue Romain Rolland, which remains true to its Neemrana non-hotel ethic in its sublimely atmospheric CARTE BLANCHE courtyard restaurant. I honestly couldn't decide which I liked more - the soup glacee aux concombres et amandes, a truly light and delicious cold soup made with cucumber and almonds or the equally refreshing figues sechees aromatisees a l'eau de rose (oranges, dates and dry figs in a salad dressed with rose water).

We stayed at the heritage suite. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The hotel staff was very courteous. Had good french food. the "RATATOUILLE" was excellent to taste. Nice place liked it very much. The property also is well done up.

The restaurant "looked" great & had the French colony feel, so we thought of trying it out for dinner. The ambience was nice & wasn't too crowded. We ordered just 2 dishes & it took them forever to come. We asked the waiter several times...More
The dined there while we were staying in the hotel. The menu is limited and not enough for a vegetarian and vegan.
One can try their Creole dishes for a local flavor, worn is perhaps what they make best, having tried creole chicken and fish...More
Visited this place for dinner around 8 PM and the place was already packed. We got a nice table outside in the courtyard- there are lights around and the seating is very pretty.
Ordered for a Margarita (they only have the basic lemon one); vodka...More
