Visiting this Basque village , famous for its air dried red chillies , to be seen and purchased all around the village were struggling to find food that whet the appetite in the local restaurants. We stopped here for lunch whilst wandering round Espelette. We'd been wanting to try the local veal and pepper stew called Axoa. This restaurant had it as one of their mains on the 20 euro menu. Aintzina is a good restaurant serving going local food. Its specialities are all good local food. This is a busy restaurant that quickly fills up. Quite a lot of seating inside. Wise to reserve or arrive right on noon or you may miss out.

Nice service, good food, perfect sangria white even red. I highly recommande it but come sooner than at 13hr otherwise it is completely full ;)

This is a simple local restaurant, but the food is of excellent quality and it is somewhere you will see the locals eating, which is always a good sign.

3 days in Espelette ...3 diner to Aintzina ....we enjoyed the food , the service & the restaurant ...you can eat on the terrasse outside in front of the restaurant ...or Inside ,...or on the covered terrasse in the back ....also a good variety of food !
