Ok food, reasonably priced, slow service. Had boiled Pork, queso fondido (not so good), and tampiqueno. Large dining area makes it better for large groups. Good location and convenient.

If you are ever in Guadalajara you MUST visit Tlaquepaque and you MUST eat and drink at El Abajeño. The food is amazing, and the ambience with all the Mariachi is so much fun.

Tlaquepaque was our base for doing the Spirit of Jalisco Tequila Tour. We ate at El Abajeno our first evening. This open air style (see-through canopy) restaurant had bands of mariachis strolling through the courtyard while we ate some of the best guacamole and fresh...More

The restaurant is beautiful; the stunning trees create a canopy that keeps the diners cool on some the warmest day. I've had several meals here, but my one of my favorites is the ceviche. It is beyond fresh and flavorful. The staff is great and...More
