This is a perfect setting, right on the beach in the pretty village of Chacala, with helpful and attentive staff, who guided us through the extensive food and drink menus. Everything we tried was delicious, especially the breakfast granola and anything shrimp based on the main menu.

We are often in Chacala and this is by far our favorite restaurant. We love the food, especially the fish, at this place. The margaritas are great. It has a spacious and relaxing setting at the beach. The service could do with improvement (except Manuel, who is fantastic).

I have eatten here 3 times this season due to its great location on this very pleasant beach. 60% tourist to 40% locals. Tourist mostly at this restaurant. The menu was extensive, with some local favorites like fried fish skins. Had the Atune Filet Sarandeado... The Sarandeado sauce was decent and spicy. The tuna was a little try and over... More

Sure, it's a great spot in a great setting. But this was the most awful dining experience we had in our 10 day stay in Chacala. I will never return here again! Never!

Loved the effort put into this granola! Blueberries, blackberries, mango, yogurt and granola with nuts. Maybe because we kept coming back everyday they gave us some home made bread/toast one day that was amazing. Good espressos and americanos as well.

The people who run Chac Mool have obviously put a lot of effort into raising the standard of their offerings over the years. Nowadays, just about everything on the menu is very good or even memorable. The mahi mahi with mango sauce, for example, is something a couple of friends of mine (and I!) dream about when we're unlucky enough... More

We arrived to beautiful Chacala beach with a motorboat with some friends. The 8 of us stopped at this small restaurant on the beach for a quick bite and we were very disappointed. Very slow service, over priced drinks and food compared to other similar restaurants we ate at before on the same beach. While the other people in our... More

I wasn't very impressed with the food.. mostly because I prefer authentic Mexican food while staying in Mexico. They do have good American like food. The night I was there, it was very busy; a band was playing (great band) and a lot of people. Seems like a fun place for those who want to party. I'd rather be in... More

Staff went out of their way to provide a romantic Valentine's Day dinner on the beach. Lovely coconut shrimp with mango sauce!

Where most of the beach restaurants are busy with mexican families and a few tourists, ChacMool is gringo gulch serving pizza, cafe lattes and cocktails. Prices are considerably higher, to which they add a (so-called optional) tip in the bill. Who knows who actually gets the money? Locals tell me the kitchen quality varies a lot and the pizza is...
