I went for lunch with three girl friends to celebrate a couple of important birthdays. We travelled from Manchester and it was well worth the journey. It is a lovely place with a marvellous relaxing atmosphere. To say nothing of the superb garden. But you really want to know about the food. The lunch time menu is astonishing value and... More

We came here to celebrate our big birthdays and were not disappointed! On arrival we had canapés in the lounge with a glass of Prosecco - a very elegant start to our evening. An option to start with walk through the garden on the warm evening would have been nice but not sure if this was possible. We were then... More

We stayed at the hotel overnight, having eaten at the restaurant. The meal was first class. A small choice which is a good sign, I had tempura of quail, followed by dry aged beef, with smoked short rib of beef. The short rib was really lovely. My wife had langoustine followed by pan fried turbot. She enjoyed it, but thought... More

Booked lunch for two to sample what I know is a great restaurant for evening dinner at lunchtime, where the restaurant advertises a 2 course lunch for £20.16. For the price, one might have thought that what was on offer would be much reduced from the evening al a carte offering, but far from it. The menu included fewer options... More

The grounds here are lovely and when we visited we sat outside whilst waiting for our table and walked around the bright garden. Inside the dinning room doesn't quite match with a strange style and "interesting" carpet. The menu is quite brilliant (we were here for weekend lunch), I could have ordered every single item from it. The food was... More

We have visited Fischers previously. It has not changed. It has a country house feel with traditional decor and service standards - a compliment. Bread was served in a wooden deep tray, butter in a sloped dish - an interesting and appreciative start. For the first course, Borlotti Bean and Monkfish cheek, for the main course, pollack and lamb and... More

An all round excellent experience - nice surrounds, service efficient but not stuffy and above all some really nice food at an amazing price at lunchtime. The real Michelin Deal!

Still great value - consistently so even on 3rd visit. Great local produce prepared to highest standard and served with pleasant smile.

We decided to try the Saturday lunch menu for a change. During the week three courses are less than £30, but at weekends it is nearer £40 but with more on offer Every morsel was superb. From chick pea chips and dip as a canapé (alongside radishes complete with leaves which probably came from their garden that morning) via a... More

We visited Fischers as a gift from my parents. 6 of us went and chose the 9 course taster menu with wine at £129 Even at this price not one of us felt overcharged! Every course was announced to us along with accompanying wine, and each one was stunning and bursting with flavour and class! The service was first class... More
