The burger and pizza were not one of the best we've had, but the service was good and the view is wonderful. Plus there aren't many other options close by. Good wine and beer.

Don't come expecting top notch service or food but for a decent meal in a room with fantastic views of Mt Cook, this is a pretty reliable choice. I've eaten here for lunch and dinner and the food was pretty basic but fine. The service is a bit slow and disorganised but you'll probably be here on holidays so there's... More

We were glad we had booked a table here as it was very busy when we arrived at 7pm.The service was good as was the food. I had the burger and chips and my husband had the Sir Ed sausages with vegetables. We then shared sticky date pudding. This is a casual restaurant which is child friendly.

Opens at 10am. Pricey spot for breakfast but still cheaper than eating at the hermitage. Food was ok.

Lovely views of Mt Cook! I had a late breakfast here after doing the Hooker Valley trail. Salmon bagel and a coffee.....not cheap but lovely, and I wasn't expecting it to be cheap as it's a fairly remote spot in which to be eating! Restaurant has a great atmosphere (I borrowed a climbing magazine whilst I ate my food) and... More

Great that you enjoyed your day with us and enjoyed the soul of our restaurant too. Thanks so much for taking the time to tell us you loved it. The salmon bagel and all our food compares with main centres in NZ, but you get more salmon with us. The code for the toilets is a must, as otherwise we... More

Had a fantastic lunch with beer here, very friendly and efficient service. we shared a salmon bagel and fries and both were great, the beer was better. As with everything though in this area, it's the view of Mount Cook that makes everything so special. As we drove off leaving the Mountain is in full view all the way out... More

We ate here twice in our recent stay, Food was a little pricey, but we expected that. Best item ordered by our group of three coupes was the salmon pizza. Really good. Ran into some of the local guides while heating here on our first night and they were super friendly and helpful. I would definitely eat here again.

Great place food was good and so too the coffees. I see Hillary open the place. What was disappointing having climb on many occasions and returned to a warm place for food drinks and company I then find I have to pay for wifi. Guys get a grip it's 2016 just lose the cost on the cost of each cover.... More

Had breakfast here. The toast on offer was not the best, being burnt and very dry. However what makes the place is the stunning views of Mount Cook on a clear day.
