Had a BLT and asked for my usual mocha with my meal. Coffee didn't arrive till I was nearly finished. Staff were pleasant . Nice place to have lunch on a beautiful mid August day.

The Salmon dish in the Mains is probably the best salmon we have ever eaten. It is fresh water salmon, farmed nearby and it was not as heavy or rich the way salmon can sometimes get. It was light, really tasty and the hollandaise sauce...More

You have the wrong target. We don't make the liquor licensing laws, the NZ govt does. If you have a problem with that, complain to the NZ government. The staff, per law, require a passport for ID if you are not a New Zealander and...More

Cafe has the most amazing backdrop! The food was really good. Salmon bagel was fresh with heaps of very good quality salmon. The burger was freshly made and tasty.

Extremely tasy pizza and a great kids menu which was just fried food, thank you. Service was friendly and the fire made the difference - so warm! Expensive wine though.

Delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and I'm guessing you mean the kid's menu was not just fried food? Great that you enjoyed the fire, too! Travel safe.

Sausages NZ made from grass-fed animals; the real thing with no msg. Carrots, potatoes and pumpkin were all organic, (which were not reheated) comes at extra cost that we absorb as we champion farmers who grow organic and love providing it for guests. Sorry if...More

My wife and I had breakfast and dinner here. The smoked salmon bagel was very generous and in the evening we had a salmon pizza for starter and the sausages and pasta. Despite others finding the salmon bland we found it delicious. The eftpos worked...More

Thank you SO very much for appreciating our place, where heart and soul is put into making your experience a good one. For every poor review we get about 100 people in the restaurant saying how great it all is, but most go off on...More

After driving 50+km off the main road to Mt Cook one morning we were looking for a good hot drink and a light snack. What we found here was a grimy, dirty, smelly (deep frying) cafe. The muffin ($6.50) was no more than a supermarket...More

You obviously have the wrong place. We pride ourselves on our very clean restaurant and the fresh air which gusts in and the warm welcoming wood fire that we have here when it is cold. It is CERTAINLY NOT smelly! Perhaps you'll find us next...More

Salmon is a mild tasting fish. I've had a word to the salmon, but it refuses to budge from its blandness. It was very fresh. We offer about four pizza options, which is not "half the menu". It's much less. A bit of a shocking...More

Nice view and food was ok. My order was stuffed up (food allergy) but quickly rectified. Few food choices but not a lot on the cold drinks side unless you want alcoholic drinks.

Good that you enjoyed the food and we fixed whatever was wrong for your allergy. Chicken, steak, vegan, vegetarian, and fish is all on offer. Cannot offer hundreds of dishes in a remote location. Cold drinks we offer have no chlorine or fluoride.
