A nice restaurant with excellent food and strong Pisco based coctails. A wide range of food on the menu and definitely worth the visit, There is also a hotel there with a nice pool area

Stunning setting, very atmospheric. Unfortunately the food and drinks are a bit of a let-down. It is one of the more touristic and one of the more expensive places to eat in Tarapoto. But for Peruvian food there are better and cheaper options to eat...in Tarapoto. That said, once needs to go here at least once while in Tarapoto because the sight and atmosphere is outstanding.More
I went there twice during my stay. Had a variety of juanes the first time and paiche patarashca the second time. Both were rather tasteless and disappointing. Had had a patarashca before in Iquitos which I had found tasty and delicious. Service was veeery slow...the first time and suprisingly fast the second time (does the fish really cook that fast?). Loud music each time, rock or 80's, very eating unfriendly. Looks like they have no serious competency in the city, so there is room here for a serious local food venue. Nice decoration.More
We wanted to try this place out as it was recommended in lonely planet. The food was quite tasteless, expensive and the service was poor. In addition my wife got sick afterwards.
This place was my first choice in tarapoto, but I just returned to the area and was so excited to eat there 😔 but the food was not fresh not delicious anymore! I hope they get back on track again, as they have so many...nice Amazonian dishes 😊 I wish them the best!More
A nice place and very central with a huge variety of honest, regional food. Try the ensalada de contacto with palm "noodles" and many regional appetizers Prices are reasonable, the gardens and the pool of the hotel patarashca behind are very beautiful. Recommended if you...want a big variety of local foodMore

Every time I go to Tarapoto, I go to this restaurant.....I went a couple of weeks ago, and this time, my experience wasn´t good. The food is always very good, bt i was very dissapointed about the services and the state of the place...both of...them weren´t the clean you´re expecting.More
This restaurant is located just one block away from the main square, the decoration and the service are very good, talking about the most important, the food, I can say that you can enjoy regional and fusion meals for a good price, not too expensive...and even one plate is enough for two person. This is a MUST in Tarapoto.More
We are delighted to have attended you in our restaurant ... we hope to see you soon and improve the experience.
I've been visiting restaurants in Taris (short way of calling tarapoto locals use) for almost 30 years now, about 20 years ago this restaurant named after a typical food cooked wrapping fish in bijao leaves (patarashca) opened as one more of many other places in...town (almost each block you will find ladies selling food on the sidewalk in front of their homes). When going to this particular restaurant you may find twists on traditional local food that you will not find in other wonderful places you should visit for a fraction of the finer restaurant price (and sometimes much better preparation than the fancier places). As places grow in visitors numbers you may experience delays on attention or getting the bill or the change and being offered smaller portions for bigger prices. But there are always things that you will not find in other places (house specialties). In Patarashca a classic is the 'chonta salad' which you may find in 'Doña Zully' restaurant as well, but some other dishes are made only in this place like the pork chops in cocoa pulp (mucilage)More
