I've given up on this miserable place. Yes, it has a fabulous view. So does the park bench at the top of the cliff. Perhaps it's a victim of it's own popularity; I certainly find it hard to engage the services of the staff when it comes to getting served. They have their core clientele / friends and they're going... More

We liked the service, food is good and portions generous. Coffee could be better, but then the view from the terrace is great.

This on the beach cafe was just below our hotel and recommended by our daughter who has friends in the area. A hot coffee and coke 2 delicious buns but had run out of Ice Cream and it was only early July

Not a good experience. The location of this cafe is excellent right on the beach at tynemouth. That is where the good part of this review ends. The tables are filthy and sticky. We had a breakfast which was overpriced and not good quality. The service was not great the queue to order was a bit out of control and... More

Was in today with my friends and children. Very attentive staff, really good with the kids, overall really good customer service. (I never write reviews either!) Would recommend

We are extremely lucky to live near the beautiful north east coastline in Tynemouth, so we are frequent visitors to Crusoes. The location itself is to die for. Located right on Tynemouth long sands beach, (this is a blue flag beach by the way),and has won many awards over the years. Crusoes is popular for wedding receptions, birthdays and christenings,... A basic in a coffee shop is good coffee. Crusoe's take full advantage of their location and serve up tasteless press-button hot drinks and food is greasy and poorly served. Slap-dash.

This is the best bacon sandwich around. It's absolutely delicious with a hot cup of tea. The position of Crusoe's is fantastic, one of the best view around. I've seen the full English breakfast and fish and chips coming out and they both looked lovely. Good sized portions. Well worth the visit.

We were in Tynemouth last Sunday 26 of June and decided to go and have a cup of tea at Crusoe's. Very popular place especially on a beautiful day. We didn't manage to get a seat outside but a window seat looking out on to the blue sea. We both had an English breakfast cup of tea (they do a... More

Heading for a weekend break in Tynemouth, the lovely shop assistant in John Lewis Newcastle said forget your pre-paid B&B and head for Crusoes. Great recommendation! Have enjoyed 2 lovely breakfasts over the weekend and can understand why this place is so special for locals and visitors. Portions are generous but prices really fair. Quality of food is excellent and... More
