Starters: the bread was really good with crunchy crust. The butter was homemade, could be a little more garlic. The best starter was the farinheira com ovos mexidos. Mains: the Wellington was really good prepared and the sweet potatoe chips were great. The taste of the Vazia was also good, only the cut was difficult to eat. The fish was ok. Atmosphere: the waiters were friendly and the design is very nice. Thank you for the good experience

Absolutely fantastic spot for anytime of the day!!

We decided to locate a restaurant between Nazare to Lisbon airport for a late lunch on our last day. We were initially disappointed to realise that we had missed the lunch menu which finished at 3pm. Wow.....it didnt matter one bit...even with fussy kids, we were all sighted with the food. The waiter spoke great English and was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. The place itself is fab, with the decor and furniture all very in keeping with the food served. The location beside the park and playground was very handy for families. The prices were very reasonable for the dishes we had, and with a really beautiful wine too. My one and only issue was smokers being close by just having coffee while others are eating. It would be nice to have a separate area for smokers, as it was a little unpleasant to have the flavour of cigarettes with my lovely desert. 🤢

Amazing Food, Wine, Service and Ambience

We drove for 30 minutes on recommendation from our Hotel and it was worth every minute of the drive. The service was great, very professional, knowledgeable of the food. The wine list was quite overwhelming, but the waiters suggestion was perfect. The food was also really great, and then we had dessert. Yummy yummy.

Bad Food and Attitude

We visited this restaurant last night and we were very disappointed indeed. The building & interior are very contemporary & we were excited to try the food. Unfortunately the food was bland, under seasoned & cold - not even the plates were warm. We have eaten out in the area & had good food each time. Upon mentioning our dissatisfaction with the waiting staff, we were told there was no senior member of staff to speak to about our issues & we were told we had to pay the full bill in-spite of the fact we did not finish any of the dishes. We will not be returning. We have never left a bad review on a restaurant before so this will tell you how unhappy we were with the food & staff attitude.

We appreciate your visit and review. However, we must point out, that you have requested your tuna steak rare and beef Wellington is also served rare. This makes impossible to serve these dishes hot. Also we had no complaints whatsoever during the whole meal. Everything was ok until the bill arrived. We work hard every day to provide the best experience possible to those who visit us. A spectacular and very pleasant space but it failed in terms of professionalism. We ordered an avocado toast with egg and salmon, they brought the toast that looked good but without salmon. Only after serving it did they say that the salmon mentioned on the menu was wrong, it didn't contain salmon. We asked for the salmon to be included, after all it was included, but in the end they charged us €1.60 for the slices of salmon! The information must be given to the customer when ordering or changing the menu.

been there quite a few times. The staff is great, nice. The setting is amazing with kids because of the park and playground. But the food and drinks are too expensive compared to the taste, preparation and the consistancy of the quality. You cannot rely on the same dish next time wether it’s a prego or beef Wellington. For these prices, given the average quality of food in Portugal, this kitchen should raise the standard

Discriminative Service - INDIANS SHOULD AVOID

Food is average but very service was very disappointing and discriminative. The waiter (from sub continent) who took our order was very rude. He said he will take order only once as ‘he can’t keep running to the kitchen all the time!!’ —- This is exactly what he said. They served complimentary papads on other tables. When we enquired they said, it’s chargeable and on their own discretion they serve it complimentary - We really felt insulted! The order was ready else we were about to cancel and move out. So INDIANS with self respect should avoid this restaurant. There are loads of good restaurants in Bath!

I've visited Roots several times and it's a pleasant place to hang out. Personally, I feel that the price-service ratio falls short with a limited menu and insubstantial portions. The space itself is spacious, with two rooms, next to the city park and a good option for families.

Overlooking the park.

Nice place with good, easy parking. Urban decor, simple with taste. Today we chose from the menu the rooster fish fillets with asparagus and lime rice and the Beef Wellington. They were both good. For dessert, the "deconstructed" cheesecake was very good. It was worth the visit.

The space is incredible. Super beautiful and spacious. Very cute indeed! Regarding the food, I really liked the broken eggs, the ham was quality as were the potatoes. Flavor on point. Then we ordered one of the house specialties, beef Wellington, which was a disappointment. I found the meat to be tough and it seemed to be too rare for this type of steak. For the house specialty, I expected much more. It's a dish that doesn't stand out. I felt sorry for not going to other things that looked incredible. The obligatory dessert to order is the bean pastry trilogy! Sooooo good! However, I believe this restaurant has all the potential to succeed. It's worth the visit and the staff is incredible. Everyone was very friendly and kind.

Nice place interesting menu but they used beans to make the chickpea pure (very different taste and color) and when confronted with it informed me I was wrong. Brown chickpea pure, really? I would have accepted it if they had said they had run out of chickpeas, but BS is not OK. Shame because I like the place.

Staff very professional, collaborated in a surprise dinner having guided everything in order to be a perfect surprise.
