We wandered from our hotel and checked out this spot after seeing it received good reviews. The patio is large and clean with nice views of the promenade and the pier. The service was excellent- the waitstaff was immediately helping us. When I ordered a "Spritz", the waiter said he'd have to check to see if they had Aperol. The... More

Pasta was way over cooked. Some of the dishes are ok but overall disappointing. Service is ok and location is nice but I will not be back.

We'd been delayed by one day while departing Rome and needed to be near the airport in order to catch our very early flight out the next day. Ristorante Capogrossi was close to our hotel, and ended up being the perfect ending to an otherwise chaotic day. The service is slow, but this seems to be a feature, not a... More

Had a fabulous meal including house white wine for 10 Euro. Started with calamari and shrimps split as an appetizer. Risotto Pescatore more like a Paella and a mixed seafood platter with Tiramisu for dessert. Owner Hermano and staff were excellent. Total bill was 57 Euro and we left and extra 5 Euro as a tip in cash. We live... More

We were staying at Hotel Tiber before flying back to the US, and looked at several place right there, on the waterfront, before settling on Capogrossi. What a happy choice! If you order the whole fresh fish, they will bring you an assortment of obviously just-caught whole fish from which to select the type of fish you want, and will... More

My wife and I ate at CapoGrossi when we stayed at the Hotel Tiber the night before we flew home from Italy. Capogrossi is very close to the hotel. Same street as the hotel facing the docked fishing boats. Maybe 100 feet from the hotel. Go left when you exit the hotel. It's right on the corner. The Fisherman's Risotto... More

We had an early flight the next day and decided to stay near the airport. Our expectations for dinner were low, just something to fill us up as we planned our trip home. What a wonderful surprise to find this restaurant and cap off our stay in Italy in such a delightful way. We had the tartare of the day... More

Four couples with reservations ate here on Friday, May 6, 2016. We were the only diners at first, but no more than six later arrived. The server was totally uncoordinated and unorganized. We had to flag him in order to order water & wine. After the house special appetizer, it was an eternity while waiting for the main courses. Six... More

My friend and I arrived, tired and hungry, as the last guests were leaving and the restaurant was closing for the evening. It seemed to be the only one with doors still open. Even though the kitchen was closed for cooking, the people served us a cold dinner and did all they could to make us feel welcome even though... More
