We recently traveled to Costa Rica during the last half of January and spent most of our time on the Nicoya Peninsula. We ate fresh fruit and veggies to our hearts desire and drank the tap water daily without issue. I know some Central American countries you have to be very careful what you ingest but Costa Rica is just fine! We also stayed in Monteverde and La Fortuna, no issues there either.
