We arrived at 13:15 to have lunch for 2, on a weekday. No chance, altough there was plenty a free tabel, no chance, we were not accepted. So this is not a true review, just the deception of not being able to appreciated the food.

Portuguese restaurant, recommended to us by local B&B hosts. Fabulous food - we had steak and salted cod (morue). Menu is all in French, and only French is spoken (not a problem to our party of 7 as I speak French) but just to be...aware. Great service - we ate on the terrace at the rear of the restaurant on a lovely sunny July evening. Great final meal of our holiday.More
Really good food! Nobody speak english, but they are nice and they try to help. The steak was good!.
We went here for dinner with friends and we had 4 kids between us. The food was absolutely delicious. It's a great place to sit outside. We had a set menu and it was great value for money. It was recommended by the campsite we...were staying at and a total surprise. Great food for excellent prices. Very kid friendly too.More
We went with other couple to my burthday lunch. We have a reserve (better, because was full). The simpathy of the owner was fantastic. Good offer between MENUS and several dishes. Even if the service is a little bit long, the food is fantastic, own...made, with freshness and very good quality. Good starters - the paté is excellent. We couldn´t eat the tiramisu - that is a good reason to back asap.More
A very well balanced and varied menu, both in terms of price and choice of meals. Efficient, pleasant and patient waiter, effortlessly catered for our every need. We chose the menu du jour and were not disappointed - ample portions and great tasting, well presented...food - very good quality and very tasty. We can highly recommended this restaurant and will certainly be returning. 5 stars - a thoroughly enjoyable meal.More
We were passing through Salbris - and a Friday at Les Oliviers was clearly for locals! Friendly welcome, nice table, good menu choice - a la carte and menus at 19.5, 25 and 26 euros. We went for one @ 26 and one a la...c. Starters of chèvre chaud and gesiers vg. Then, my faux filet - excellent. Mary's magret - v bad. Asked for it saignant but it was first sliced and then pan-fried! On one side of each tranche. Tough, ugly, shrivelled, not saignant. We told the guy and he offered some faux filet instead. Too late. Then vg desert of gazpacho of strawberries and ice cream. The bill - handwritten, no print-out! Overcharged by 6.50 euros for the wine. I queried it and he said the pichet red wasn't as per menu but 'better' ie costlier. He did then reduce the bill. Here's the best bit! We'd left the money at the table, said bonsoir and the man who'd been at the table next to us rushed over to the waiter, concerned that we hadn't paid! We stood by the door as the waiter, equally hurriedly, went to our table to check that, indeed, these foreigners had not tried to make off without paying. How strange it all was! PS - the chap who'd thought we hadn't paid had shared one module frites with his partner and we'd had a 3 course menu + starter and mains and 2 pichets.More
