This taverna never disappoints. Phillipos is famous locally for his fresh fish, but all meals are good and nothing is too much trouble, just ask.

Visited twice during our weeks stay in Gouves and on both occasions had excellent food with first class service. Food traditionally Greek and cooked to perfection, this taverna is a little gem. Situated on the side road directly opposite the little church on the sea front this is well worth a visit. Reasonably priced for both food and drink and personal... More

What a lovely man, ate there once and was returning from the beach a couple of days later when he called is over for cornetto's and a chat! Spent many a day/night there afterwards. Good plain cooking at a paltry price. Raki and melons on the house. A must for an authentic greek restaurant!

Went to this restaurant several times whilst on holiday. Phillipos was like Mr Bean so funny. His mum helped in the kitchen even though she is in her eighties. The food was always great and the service good. It is a friendly place to go and everyone stranger or not, had a good night and did not want to go... More

We have recently been on a trip to Gouves and we spent several evenings in this lovely friendly taverna. The food is really good and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. We have been customers here since the business opened nineteen years ago and over the years we've noticed how Phillipos has amassed a loyal following of visitors who have... More

We enjoyed our evening meal here last night. Great menu choice of typical local Cretan dishes all reasonable priced. Good local wines and very cold beer. The restaurant owner kept us entertained all evening, you have to agree he is a definate Mr Bean character! We have eaten here many times and never been disappointed.

This is a cute little restaurant found up one of the side streets from the sea front in Gouves. It serves nice traditional Greek food, the owner Phillipos and waitress were very welcoming and attentive. It was quiet when we went but it was only the second week of May.
