As the title says we only stopped for a rest, had a coffee and just watched the world go by. Situated on a corner overlooking a square absolutely great for people watching. Coffee and service very good. Recommended

I probably first ate here about 50 years ago and I still go back whenever I visit Barga. A great little traditional restaurant which is comfortable, friendly with good, local dishes and an excellent wine list. Excellent antipasti, good home-made pasta dishes. We always try to have our first dinner of the holiday here. Try the Nemorino white wine, and/or... More

Lovely was a quick aperativo before you head out for dinner. Always busy no matter what the weather.

My husband and I have just spent two nights at the Hotel Alpino in Barga. We found the hotel to be very comfortable and clean. Everyone who was working on the hotel was very courteous and friendly. We also ate at the restaurant on both nights and had a delicious meal on both occasions at very reasonable prices. I would... More

There are a number of places to eat in Barga (albeit some are shut in the winter) and most seem to serve a specific need for us. When we want a really good meal, with wine of course, and a quiet evening together to talk, reflect etc, this is the place we go. Roberto is superb - service, friendliness, knowledge... More

This is a pleasant place to dine in Barga. Overlooking the square it is cosy, offering simple food that is well presented and good value. Service is friendly and relaxed.

We ate here twice - once for dinner upstairs and once for lunch downstairs. The dinner was very good with a nice wine list and the lunch was outstanding. The lunch offers delicious pizzas, large fresh tasty salads, and wonderful calzones made with a thin flaky crust.

Good price for a quick bite to eat. Only serve pizza although the choice is vast. Lovely food service could have been better as only 1 waiter serving

Roberto really looked after us. I started with Carpaccio Di tonno con olio, pomodorini e basilico (tuna with cherry tomatoes basil and oil). I was concerned about it being too much but the tuna was wafer thin and melted in your mouth and when my raviol di ricotta e spinaci al burro e salvia (ravioli in sage butter) came, I... More

Although the menu rarely changes in this beautiful top floor establishment, each dish is really a step above. It may be a little pricier than some, but the quality of the food and the execution is worth it.

The restaurant is noted for its excellent wine list and wonderful local and Tuscan dishes. Wine is a passion here - the cantina holds delights from both Tuscany (including a good selection of the so-called 'Super-Tuscans'). Great care has been taken in adapting the wine list to match whatever dishes happen to be in season, and you will find recommendations to match each course of your meal.Local funghi (mushrooms) in season, crostini Toscani after an old family recipe and good salami, home-made pasta (tortelli, ravioli, fettucine), gnocchi, zuppa Toscana and a good choice of main dishes. All dishes can be paired with a recommendation from the excellent wine cellar - one that has been growing for over forty years and is constantly changing and being added to. The Restaurant joins the program and events of "Vetrina Toscana a tavola"
