Nice restaurant in great location by the beach

Definitely one of the nicest locations to eat in the south of the island, out on the large deck overlooking the beach. The one jarring note was the incredibly loud bar about a hundred yards away to the east, beyond the Reef cafe - we sat at the furthest point away from them so that we could barely hear the insistent drum and bass beat. The rum punch was delightful, Jenny’s white wine less so - a more lurid colour than you usually expect. The menu’s a decent one and a nice change from the local Creole meals we’d had the previous three days; options for vegetarians are more limited, as everywhere on St Lucia, and it was disappointing that they had no pasta (really?) the evening we were there, but I actually had a good meal of Caesar salad, a mac and cheese side (so they had some pasta....) and garlic bread, and Jenny had plenty if appealing options and was very happy. A lovely setting and a nice evening in what’s obviously a popular place.

Tropical After- Christmas Treat at a cool Beach Bar

Right on the beach you can check in at the airport and grab a bite. Real spectacular views and the rustic - sophisticated ambiance suits me. The food is good, just that there is a little room for improvement with customer services.

Great food, rum punch and a good price all in a lovely setting looking out to onto the beach/sea. Lovely staff and good service all round. Try the curry goat, you won’t be disappointed!

Wosrt restaurant on island

By far this is the worst restaurant I have visited on the island of st lucia. I went with my family after a cremation service.Upon arriving the waitress seemed displeased that we were even coming to the restaurant when I saw her faced I asked her if the restaurant is closed and is food being served she said Yes, "sit anywhere you want" so I'm like okayyyy a group of 10 of us had to be putting tables together so that we could sit to eat at this restaurant. We arrived at 11:30. She took our orders I asked her about drinks she said she will be back for the order of drinks. 15 minutes later a young man comes and takes our drinks order which was missing one order. We waited 1 hour 37 minutes to receive food. They never came to the table to offer drinks most of our glasses were empty. When I received my food which was a seafood Alfredo my mom tasted the fish. She said it was spoilt, I tasted it and it was I called the waitress and told her that the fish was no good. So she came back and asked if I wanted another, I told her I can't take another with spoilt fish. She said "they will use another fish" i then asked her how long it would take to get the meal she said 20 minutes I said 20 minutes?????? she said well 15. I said it doesn't make sense to take another meal because by the time I receive my food my entire table will be done. She said ok and left and never came back to the table until my family was done eating. I asked for the bill. Upon receiving the bill, it has tip written it. So I went to query the tip. I asked why is there a tip added on there when we were not satisfied and I didn't eat. The owner didn't offer a discount or remove service charge nothing of the sort. She was quite rude and kept telling me i had to pay the tip because we had 10 of us at the table. We waited for that long with poor service and paid u a tip for bad service and horrible food. Please stay away from that restaurant. It's not worth the money and time. Go to the reef go to the ugly mug go to some other restaurant don't go to them. Serving people spoilt food! I have attached her response to my review from Facebook. This is how she treats customers paying customers at that!!!

This customer has persistently tried to tarnish the reputation of our company because of a dish which she did not enjoy, one which we offered to replace even if we knew there was nothing wrong with it. We were very busy with a lunch rush and so just automatically decided to redo or replace her meal, free of charge. We DO NOT serve spoilt food and we did offer complimentary food to allow for the customer’s displeasure. This customer was extremely rude, loud,insulting, and obnoxious to all serving staff. She created a huge scene and shouted, mocked and insulted the staff at the restaurant. There is an automatic 10% service charge attached to groups of 10 which was written on all 10 menus handed to this group. (They later on said that they were illiterate and could not read or write!!) We served this table 12 meals, with ONLY ONE person complaining about her dish. All other plates from this table came back to our kitchen empty and NO ONE ELSE complained to us. The owner was far from rude or dismissive and tried to explain to the young lady why the service charge was there. This table made no reservations and declined all starters for a large group. They were also told there would be a long wait time. Their total wait time was 45 minutes as calculated from the order in to order out time. While we appreciate all feedback, serial complainers like this customer need to understand that in the service industry there are lines which ought not to be crossed. Everyone at the restaurant was extremely nice and attentive to this table. They were disappointed we did not offer them any free drinks or a discount to comp for their wait time which was absolutely average! This customer keeps creating pages and accounts just to tag us and leave her horrible reviews because we refused to give in to the terrible attitude and the free food and beverage they wanted. We have apologized enough to her on ALL THE OTHER PLATFORMS she has left her “REVIEWS”. We do not give in to bullies.

My husband and I visited this restaurant before our flight. Terrible terrible service. We ordered mixed drink; when we told the server that it was pure lime juice she turned her face up and said no. However when the supervisor checked it she confirmed the issues we had raised ... Fast forward they told us if we both 3 beers we have to take it one time... so you expect us to drink hot beers ? That making any sense? St lucia has no customer service if u are brown skin.. guess what I have rights and I'll exercise those rights

First of all we apologize about the cocktail which you had. We are glad that the bar supervisor was able to help sort out the cocktail situation. Second, the Piton beer situation is a special which we offer. It is 3 piton beers for only $10XCD. As with all bar specials and happy hour specials such as any 2 for 1 drinks/drink specials must be given out at the same time as is customary in majority of countries. This special is usually enjoyed by persons; both local and foreigners! Usually taken by persons who down their beers quickly or those who share with someone else Or just beer lovers in general. We are a bit confused as to why this concept baffles you! And third, we do not support racism or racist comments as your review points towards. We are sorry that you feel the way you do but by no means was our service a reflection of the color of your skin. And we cannot speak for the whole of St Lucia, but if that is what your experience was island-wide, then perhaps it was not the service industry with the issue... We wish you and your husband well on your travels and we hope that you visit with an open mind and better vibes in future! Thanks for taking the time out!

After having booked a table

After having booked a table for three for my birthday. We arrived to a staff member rudely insisting that a mask needed to be worn before entry. This wouldn’t be a problem at all apart from the fact that no one else in the entire restaurant was wearing a mask. Interestingly she didn’t insist the customers after us wore masks. But that may be because they were white and she seemed to be overly obsequious to the white customers. Maybe it’s restaurant policy to be nice to just white people? The little young girl server was nasty, Ill-bred and rude and continued to insist we wore masks when no one else was wearing one. Also, for someone who was so insistent about mask use, we watched her preparing customer drinks whilst leaning over the blender with her mask pulled down. Surely if anyone should have been wearing a mask it should have been that officious jobsworth young lady. I assume she will reprimanded for her own disregard of rules if nothing else. Not my best birthday experience. Would not recommend this restaurant (unless you’re a white man)

First of all we apologize that you did not enjoy your birthday. However, this seems to be through fault of your own and not ours and we do not apologize for that. The young lady was very pleasant when informing you and your friends of the new protocol as required by law. She informed you, despite the signage at the entrance that masks are a requirement to enter the restaurant. She further explained that once seated at your table you would be able to remove your mask - as you noted with the other guests who might I add were NOT as RUDE and disrespectful as you were to her and continue to be even on a public post! You are racist, and belligerent and we are okay with losing a customer like you! How can you refer to an adult female as a “little young girl”...”nasty Ill bred”??? You need to do some deep self reflection and you are more than welcome to try getting a table with us again. Please note that we do have strict covid-19 guidelines in place to ensure the safety of yourself and our other guests. Please note that you will not allowed to enter without a mask.

Don’t waste your time. Too many great restaurants on the island to chose from

After a week on the island, I can truly say this was the worst restaurant we tried by far. We ordered calamari, a Piton and a water when we got there. 40 minutes later we had never seen our waitress again. We were going to leave. We hadn’t even ordered dinner yet. There were only 5 other tables with customers, so they weren’t busy. I found the waitress with the other staff members sitting around the bar laughing and having a good time. She said she’d check on our food. When it arrived it was quite overcooked and rubbery. I ordered coconut shrimp with a salad. My wife ordered pumpkin soup. That was another 45 minutes wait. The shrimp arrived severely overcooked. Dark brown to almost black. The salad was some shredded lettuce with no salad dressing. I’m sure my wife’s soup was dumped from a can and heated up. All of my food was pre prepared frozen things dumped in a fryer. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I usually do not write reviews, but this review is needed. I repeat do not eat from this place. The manager yelled at my husband just because he had wet sand on his feet and walk up to the bar to get a drink. That was uncalled for as it's a beach, it rained that day and your bar is by the beach. If you want to have no sand at the bar area why would you build a deck there or provide customers with a designated area to wash their feet before entering. The customer service here is horrible and the food is not worth it. I REAPEAT DO NOT EAT FROM HERE.

Beautiful Lunch spot

Lovely spot just a short walk from the centre of Vieux Fort. We ordered 3 "Beach Bites"between the two of us. Coconut Shrimp, Lambie and Mussels.All were excellent and was more than enough for us. Each came with a choice of fries, salad or garlic bread. Yes, the service was relaxed but we sat at the bar and and were offered drinks when we were empty. The view was great, the food excellent and for St Lucia the prices were good. We had a great time.

Worst experience ever

I have been coming here on and off for many years. I always found the service adequate but slow. Last night I brought 5 guests for a meal. It was the worst experience I've ever had. The tables were dirty so I asked the staff to wipe it. We were there for half an hour and no one brought us a menu or offered us a drink. We left after I asked one of the staff if they were still providing a service because we have been waiting at a dirty table for so long. I was rudely told to go elsewhere if we wanted to eat. We left. I will never go to this place again.

We went for dinner and really enjoyed the conch, shrimp and mahi mahi. Good selection of drinks. Staff was very attentive. We could hear the water and expect the view in daytime would be spectacular.

Eat before you get here. Service is terrible. Good spot for a drink looking at the ocean . Not good if you are hungry.

Good views. Don’t go hungry. Service is terrible. Drinks are good. View is nice right on the water. Wait staff will walk right by you as you say “excuse me” or “hello”. I understand culturally you cannot be in a hurry but this place is the worst for service. Come for a drink and enjoy the view. Eat before you get here.

We went twice during our time in St Lucia - it’s easy and good for a family. The food was fine - coconut shrimp was awesome and service was fine. Order everything at once and be prepared to walk up the bar to get your second drink. The restaurant does have a covered area if it rains.

My group of 5 had a horrible experience here. Go check out the other 1 star reviews, management is very avoidant and rude and their staff has no training. The customer service was not the best from the beginning, but after we ate our meals, 4 of us started getting an upset stomach, and my husband actually ended up uncontrollably vomiting for 25 mins after eating his meal. Denver was the only pleasant staff member we dealt with. I spoke to the bartender, waitress and the chef and all did not handle the situation professionally. We tried to speak to someone in charge to inform them about our food poisoning, and these staff members all stated that they had no manager or supervisor on shift with them, and they had no contact numbers for any management at all, which is obviously a lie. The chef was very unbothered about us telling him we got sick from the food served (maybe he hears it all the time). Our waitress was yawning and rubbing her eyes while we spoke to her. No concern was shown, they actually were giggling at us. we didn’t want a refund, just some acknowledgement that 4 out of 5 of us got very ill from food they served. When I tried calling to speak to some form of management the day after this incident, the boss was in but I I was told she did not want to come to the phone, even though I told the staff member it was a complaint. Very odd behaviour. I was told to leave my name and number repeatedly, this was all they would say on the phone to me. I have not received any phone call from the boss yet. No form of apology, no concern shown to us in the least. Risky business eating here, give your business to an establishment that actually cares, because reading these reviews and talking no to others who have eaten here, it seems other have been served bad food as well. And the response from the management says it all. They’re guilty. I recommend everyone to go eat at the Reef instead. Lovely service and better food as well.
