Better lunch than I expected. They only do roasts on a Sunday but with an added vegetarian option. I had the mushroom & spinach lasagne which was delicious & really cheesy. There was a generous amount of veg for the size of our party & it was all cooked perfectly. The desserts were very generously sized too.

Recommended to us by a loca, this is a proper country pub with good honest food. (Steak and Ale pie and delicious faggots, beware large portions). Apparently has camping for vans etc. But I wish I had been there for bikers night (Friday's apparently) to find out what is "bikers menu". On an unlit road, in the dark a welcome... More

Visited here for lunch and to be honest I didn't have high hopes. It was empty and situated on a busy road but we didn't have much choice. Good food reasonable prices. Kids had fresh batteries fish and deliciously crunchy fat chips. Great steak and ale pie and even fussy ones were catered for with a fresh chicken salad (off... More

Staff were very helpful and accommodating. offered to set up a table in snug at back as we had dogs, but we chose to leave them in car and eat in front restaurant area. good size meals and lots of separately served veg. Slightly watery gravy and my meat... More

I have been hosting a classic motorcycle rally at this pub ever since the present couple took over. We have always been made welcome and always have had a great time. The food is not pretentious, just good solid well cooked premium British food prepared and served to the very highest standards. The camping facilities are excellent on the top... More

Mike and Dawn Corp were fantastic hosts nothing was to much trouble for them. My wife and I stayed at the Waggon and Horses Caravan park at the rear of the pub. The site is excellent. The toilets/showers are spotless. I have been caravanning for over forty years and the site is very good value and you don't have to... More

The Waggon & Horses is a charming 17th century coaching inn situated high on the Mendip Hills with panoramic views over the Somerset countryside. Mike and Dawn own and run 'the Waggon' and are proud to have preserved the olde worlde charm of the inn. Open log fires, exposed beams and memorabilia from traditional country life ensures a warm and welcome retreat. 'The Waggon' offers a relaxed and friendly service, good quality homemade food, local ciders, real ales, beers and a good selection of wines and spirits.
There are thirteen caravan pitches, eight with 'hook-up' facilities, and a brand new toilet block with showers and wash basins which has easy access for the disabled. There are also washing-up facilities and a chemical waste disposal point. The site is perfect for group weekends and the location is ideal for those who wish to visit the many famous local places
