The last 2 visits to this place made my mine up. Never return again. Originally found it a good fish restaurant but the last 2 visits finished me off. The crockery was dirty the cups stained the plates had remains of the last meal stuck to it. The fish (haddock) was near pink tinged (like it had been hanging around... More

This is a very good fish and chip restaurant.Very busy and well regarded in the area. At the weekend don't expect to get parked in the car park. The waiting staff are cheerful and attentive, and the munu covers more than the average chippy. Well worth a visit.

We picked up a take away cod and chips for 5. Awful, soggy chips fatty soggy fish. Dont know if its the boxes they put them in that makes it all go soggy but really not very nice at all. Never eaten in and I am sure it must be much better because it is always busy but take away... More

We ate at Whitstone’s one Sunday evening, as it was the only place in Shepton Mallet that we could find that was serving meals that night. My husband had the Cod, Chips, and Mushy peas, which he enjoyed. I had the Southern Fried Chicken Breast, which I found to be rather plain and unexciting. However, we were very grateful that... After a energetic time at the beach we opted for fish and chips to round off a wonderful day. We were not disappointed. The service was quick and friendly. They were great with the kids and the place was lovely and clean. The fish and chips were great and the children's portions very generous. We'll definitely want to go back... More

Used this restaurant regularly a few years ago and thought it excellent. Moved away, but visited recently after a long gap (and a 2 hour drive!). Delighted to find the same service, quality, value - even the prices didn't seem to have increased! As a born and bred Yorkshire woman, I truly believe that the only GOOD fish'n'chips (and the... Sit down and enjoy the best Fish and Chips you will find in the area (except their branch in Midsomer Norton which is a takeaway only) Freshly cooked and served with a smile , Wide menu and also a selection of drinks to compliment family friendly Highly recommended

Went in for an early Chippy Tea as watching a relation in a play in Frome and this was on the way. Parking was a bit difficult as there was a co-op on the same site and lots of people picking up fish and chip suppers from the take away. Found us a table despite not having booked (never booked... Had our first fish and chips take away tonight that we waited ages for and it was so disappointing! The fish was really over done and was more batter than fish. The chips were awful, soggy and undercooked and I threw most of the meal away. What a waste of £12. Maybe they were having an off day because the... More
