We happened to stumble upon this gem when we were looking for a nice place to have dinner with friends. We ended up enjoying a great 5 course surprise menu, accompanied with some Lebanese wines and specialty beers. You could really see the great care...they take with their dishes, and we kept on being surprised by the deliciousness of each new course. Furthermore, the owners really care about their customers as they will take the time to check in, and chat with every single table. Diner here was the perfect ending to our vacation and we will definitely be back next time!More

Amazing experience. Not only was the food amazing (especially for someone who doesn’t eat meat!) but the people were extremely friendly. After the restaurant was closed my friend had some trouble with her bike and the owners even helped us fix the bike so we...could catch our train in time!! If I ever visit Rhenen again I wil definitely go back!More

The service and the food are excellent. Price is OK for two persons about € 70 On a beautiful day one can sit outside on the cosy terrace and enjoy the traffic at the roundabout. Inside relatively styandard interieur. Toilet facilities are clean but basic.

I'm writing this appreciation in english, so it's also understandable for tourist as well. The entire ambiance off the restaurant is nice and cozy, staff very friendly. From our location in the restaurant, we had a clear view on the kitchen. The quality of the...dishes are fresh and well cooked. My sister and I decided to start with (2x cold + 2x warm); We choose the: Warak Enab+ Kbeh Naije, Falafel and the Burak Lahmeh. Excellent cooked by the chef's! The finesse and texure of the dishes are good prepared and nice in balance. For main course we decided to have the Kapseh (chicken) and the Friekeh (lam). My lam was perfect, but the chicken off my sister was even better. From the house we received an plate with fruits....in total we're asked to pay around €70 in total. First time at this restaurant and direct hit! Dank je wel voor jullie souplesse en mooie gerechten. Zoals beloofd hierbij mijn recenssie, laten vele ons nagaan.More

All starters, cold and warm, salads and main courses looked quite nice. So we took the Orzaal surprise menu... The first cold starter looked like a main course. The taste was very good. Fresh salads! And, by the way, here is some more.... The warm...starter was nice as well. Then the main course. A kind of mixed grill. Juicy chicken and lamb. Really nice and well cooked. The dessert was again very nice. The service in the restaurant was top. For me a 5 star experience. I will certainly return.More

A pleasant surprise to eat authentic Libanese / Syrian food of excellent quality, served by very friendly personnel, all was fresh and very tasty, it brought me back to Beirut. A pleasure to find such a resto in Rhenen. Success to the Syrian team!!

Being fond of Lebanese food and because I had to entertain people that like this kind of cuisine too, I searched the web for a Lebanese restaurant nearby and found this recently opened restaurant Al Orzaal. According to their webpage they take great pride in...their hygiene, quality and hospitality, so the expectations were high. Arriving at Rhenen, the place where they are located the restaurant is easily found at the first roundabout. We were placed on the terrace, which is due to heavy traffic, not an enjoyable place to sit, so although the outside temperature was about 30 degrees C we went inside. First impression of the interior, taking account the recent opening, was disappointing: wooden floor are screaming for a sanding and a few liters of varnish, the upholstery of the chairs need attention and the tabletop was sticky. We ordered eight starters, mezes, to share. All the usual dishes like Baba Ganoush, Tabouleh, different sorts of Buraks and so on. We were disappointed to see the served food: to start with the flatbread: cold, rubbery and not at all the fresh from the oven fluffy clouds of dough we are used to eat in a Lebanese restaurant... was sent back and asked for a freshly baked batch. The tabouleh was drowned in water.... why? The Buraks came out of the oven to soon: puff pastry wasn't coloured at all and certainly not puffed. Overall the servings were small even taking into account that the prices are low. Whilst a foto show a dish with a generous litter of pine nuts we received a dish served in total only six nuts.... An even bigger disappointment when we received the mains: the beef kebab was nothing but grayish, compact minced meat, no caramelization what so ever, hardly seasoned and thus tasteless, even worst was the other meat dish, lamb: also hardly exposed to the heat of the charcoal grill, gray, tasteless and plated by a cook of economical nature: hardly enough to fill a single pita bread and served with fishy smelling french fries.... again: why? Temperature of the main courses: lukewarm at best. Service is very unexperienced: waitresses taking away plates while people are still eating, hardly any coordination between staff members, dishes served mistakenly, the young girls are disarmingly sweet but lack education and support. Overall these people probably try their best, clearly a hard working family, but without doubt need help to lift this restaurant to a professional level serving comfortable dishes and provide better service. As for now: sorry, but no sorry.More
