Nice lunch

We had a wonderful seafood lunch with friends in this friendly restaurant. The owner brought out the fish before it was prepared to show us how fresh it was. Each and every course was very tasty. We would go back again.

Our last night in Tuscany so chose 'local' and received a warm welcome from the staff. On our last visit (with previous owners) we were greeted with a glass of Prosecco - but not this time. The restaurant still looks the same with the charming chandelier and arched ceilings. Like previous reviewers we were surprised by the wine list, a... More

We initially sat and looked at menus, served by the 17 year old son of the owner, Agustino. He then came to our table (3 couples) and proposed that he provide a 'special' meal for us. This consisted of 3 anti-pastas (two Tuscan style and one Sicilian), then a Sicilian pizza, followed by three pasta dishes (again, two Tuscan style... More

Wonderful restaurant the not to be missed hilltop village of San Gusme. Unless you're picky about what you eat, give owner Agostino and his chef/wife carte blanche and you will not be disappointed. Waiter Franc (pronounced "Franch") and Agostino's son Jacoba (pronounced "HACK-co-bah") will see that your hot plates arrive promptly and explain each as they are placed before you.... More

Authentic Tuscan food, lovely rice balls, great rosemary steak and scrumptious chocolate cake. Good wines and great value!

We had dinner at this restaurant in 4 people after visiting the beautiful village. The staff wasn't very kind and they were not able to recommend a local wine, but only Sicilian wine ... in Tuscany! Anyway we ordered steak Florentine. It did not look bad but the taste was horrible! It was like eating meat cooked with fish! That... More

On our first visit, the welcome was very friendly, we were recognised from just making an enquiry about five days earlier. It has a nice atmosphere - very rustic. The menu had a reasonable choice. We had a mixed vegetable starter and a rigatoni with eggplant. Both were delicious. We were slightly disappointed with our main courses. My steak was... More

Dried bread . We asked for a green salad and got a few pieces of tomotoe and some pieces of cabbage. Very stingy and it cost 12 euro. Then we each ordered a pasta dish which was the smAllest portion i have ever seen. Do not even give it a try

Six of us gave carte blanche to the chef who produced a spectacular meal - a dozen platters of delicious foods including three different pasta dishes and a huge steak Florentine. He recommended appropriate wines. We spent a happy 3+ hours in the vaulted dining room that served in ancient times for wine storage. Truly a family affair: chef, his... More
