The service was terrible. We were told first to wait outside, then to wait inside, then a group of 5 people was given priority although we had already been waiting for 30 minutes. No apologies, no explanations. Leaving was the best decision.
We had a delicious cassatina and a perfect coffee at this place, but all of that was overshadowed by the long waitingtime and the disdainful attitude of our waiter. Also the toilets were extremely dirty.
We found everything we ordered delicious and the waiters were extremely friendly. The cappuccino with almond milk is a must!! We were also surprised with how cheap everything was. They also have a great location on the main pedestrian road.
I still dream about the granita I had here and only wish I could have it all the time. The sour cherry was mind blowing, as was the almond. We were told you had to dip the fresh brioche into the granita and it was...like eating cherry pie. Wow. Nothing I have ever had has come close!
I will say, the service left a lot to be desired and if you do not speak Italian, you may have some trouble ordering from the waitstaff. Luckily, we were with someone who spoke Italian and we didn't have to worry about a thing.More
We visited Noto just for this place and it lived up the expectations. Everything was delicious and the almost products brought childhood memories which is priceless. Do yourself a favor and give this a go
And a Sure bet if you want special cakes and of course a Granita.
Still, not the best cakes not not the best Granita I had in Sicily, and I had many.
They did not have my preferred flavor, pistachio nor almond, so we compromised...with coffee...and it was just ok (I have attached a picture of it, among others).
My best granita, without any doubt, was in Taormina, but Caffe Sicilia's was one of the best...after Taormina's.
Not the best cakes either but at least among the most...original.
The place is famous, you will probably have to wait a lot, especially during high season, July and August as tourists and visitor are queuing to sit there (because of these superlative reviews).
We were there on the 2nd Saturday of September, around noon, and there was no queue nor waiting time.
The waiters were excellent, patient, nothing like what was described in other reviews.
If you are in Notto, I believe this is a must be place, at least for a break between the walks, churches and other palaces to be visited in Notto.More
If you have a sweet tooth and want to experience a traditional Sicilian cafe this is a must in any visit to Noto. It can get very busy - so be prepared to stand at the bar drinking your coffee, as the locals do,if you...can’t get a table and there is only limited seating outside. You can buy cakes to take away - so well worth popping in, even if it’s full. They have a big range of amazing home made cakes. At Christmas there was a particularly delicious one they recommended with mandarin zest & saffron which was sensational - a mandarin explosion in the mouth - and a nice change on Christmas Day from stodgy Christmas pudding. Also great for aperitifs.More
In fact we did not know this cafe as we did not plan to stop in Noto. By chance we stopped at this cafe, we asked for cannolo and almond granita, what a lucky strike !!
Only later we read about this cafe..wow..we were lucky...:-)) Love the old fasion deco with modern painting. Hope to eat moreeeeeeeee granita when in Noto again.More

I have reviewed many restaurants and traveled all over the world and I think best in the planet would suggest you are prone to exaggeration. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we all read others reviews as we wish. Expecting people to all agree is simply deluded. The point of the existence of tripadvisor is to allow you to see a breadth of opinions.
