You can't get a much more authentic Provençal setting than this. Under the new management of a pleasant young couple, it has a good reputation locally. The set menu is €25 both lunchtime and evening and offers a choice of two starters, mains and desserts....The chestnut soup was velvety smooth, the fish main was well cooked and not left to dry out. The chocolate fondant was gooey and delicious. Portions are small with vegetables more a garnish than part of the meal so it might not suit those with hearty appetites but there's plenty of skill and attention shown. The restaurant is tiny, fewer than 20 covers with little space between tables. A small, vaulted adjoining room seemed a bit claustrophobic so, if booking, I'd recommend specifying that you want to sit in the main area. We certainly weren't disappointed and would recommend it.More

We were able to sit on the cozy terrace opposite the restaurant. Excellent €23 menu with a choice of 2 starters, mains and pudding. Good sensibly priced local wine. You need to book in advance at the weekend.

just wanted to get to another restaurant close by, which was closed. So we got to this palce we knew from 2 years ago. With a new owner we got a very positive surprise! The athmosphere is still simple but nice. We got excellent food...though at a very reasonable price.More

I had melon soup with jambon cru as my starter which was lovely and refreshing. My partner had the tuna rillettes which were very tasty. We both had the veal which was a generous portion in good creamy sauce. For dessert we both had the...whisky pannacotta with chocolate sauce which was great. As usual, friendly efficient service and a thoroughly enjoyable evening.More

The new chef is really finding his feet. Wonderful starter of gratin of prawn raviolis, followed by pork in mushroom sauce and finally a chocolate brownie type dessert. Super friendly service and a varied wine selection all add to a great evening out.

Situated in a beautiful village this restaurant never fails to delight. We have had many meals here and all have been first-class. Prosper the chef produces original dishes from local ingredients - French cuisine with a spicy twist. The main courses are served with inclusive...vegetables etc. The sweet potato puree is a favourite of ours. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly - Sophie runs a very efficient front of house. The interior is warm and welcoming or in the summer you can eat outside on the terrace, surrounded by charming ancient village houses with their brightly coloured shutters and flower-filled balconies. It is excellent value for money with each course priced separately so you can have a full 4 course meal if you wish or merely a main course - though it would be a shame to miss out on Prosper's luscious desserts! Venterol is only a couple of miles from Nyons so if you're staying in the area this is a place not to miss.More
