We visited for my dad's birthday so we wanted somewhere a little bit special. We were disappointed with the table I had reserved as it was access to and from the outside, and it was quite breezy. We asked if we could move and turn two tables around, they were situated behind and were vacant but this wasn't possible so... More

Called in on the way back home, we have stopped off for food here in the past and have always enjoyed it, but tonight, I have to say was one of the most bizarre experiences i have ever had in a pub. I went to the bar to order drinks, and the barman who was serving another customer, had no... More

Had a fab family visit here this weekend. We learnt the place has been recently refurbished and it looks great. The floor to ceiling sliding doors that run the length of the pub front were open on our visit offering a super view of the canal and boats. Lovely food, wifey wasn't that hungry so went for a starter as... More

Just returned from my second visit here for Sunday lunch. The first visit was a disaster but we figured that everyone has a bad day so why not give it another go !! The roast beef was inedible so was sent back - I re-ordered the gammon and it was served in what looked like a bed-pan. Jan my partner... More

Went for Sunday Lunch, however slightly confused at the Menu as at first sight it appeared that they didn't have a Sunday Roast. Finally after asking the young lad who took our order to explain about the Sunday Roast/Cottage Pie concept we where non the wiser so we ordered the Roast Beef and waited. My father had the burger which... More

Was on holiday on the canal the staff were really friendly but we were disappointed they didn't serve food on a Monday. Think the place would benefit better from hiring another part time chef

We were staying at BAYVIEW caravan park for the weekend with friends. Dispite the weather we managed to have a walk along the canal and we stopped for a bite to eat. The pub has had a face lift and looks fantastic the good was excellent and we enjoyed it. The only thing that spoilt it was the waiting on... More

Hi Helen Sorry you did not get to eat. There were, however, notices outside the pub, we have two menu boards by each of our entrances and there was large, clear wording advising of the closure on both. As you accurately point out, we have just been refurbed, but have also just had a brand new £10,000, open plan kitchen... More

Third day of our adventures on Lancaster Canal, we stopped at Carnforth for a spot of lunch and was not disappointed, Had a cold beer and opted for the handmade sandwiches, I had the smoked beef with mayo and slaw, this came with wedges and for the price it was well worth the money, sat outside next to the canal...
