We had dinner here upon our arrival in Montagnana. As I saw cod-based dishes in the menu, I had no doubt and chose baccalà mantecato and baccalà alla Vicentina, both very good. My wife opted for local prosciutto, also very good, and Spanish pork that...was good but a little too dry. The place provided amuse-Boucher at the beginning and at the end of the meal. Delicious Sfurzat wine completed the meal. A very good placeMore

We organised a meal for 30 friends and liaised with Elisa to arrange a menu to suit various dietary requirements. The food and service were first class and the cost very reasonable for the high quality.

We had previously planned a stop in Montagnana on our way to Padova and booked lunch at Ristorante Aldo Moro. The restaurant is in the hotel of the same name on a side street near Piazza Maggiore--easy to find. We were greeted warmly and treated...graciously for the entire meal--don't know why, but that doesn't always happen, so always appreciated when it does. The room is comfortable, warmly furnished and decorated. The real star is the food. The hotel and restaurant are a family affair. Parents and brother in the room and sister in the kitchen. Based on the imagination, quality, finesse, precision and taste,I believe that she is a chef worth watching. Our dishes were exceptional. And we failed to resist the tiramisu, made tableside--don't miss it!More

I was traveling with a group and the restaurant put on a special lunch for us. Special is the word. They went to enormous effort (one of our group is gluten intolerant and another dairy intolerant and they were catered for) and the food was...excellent. The staff could not have been more helpful and we had a wonderful experience.More

It was market day in town with no parking till 2:00 so that might explain why we were the only patrons for lunch! Beautifully furnished, fresh flowers, excellent service. Was here for lunch. We had the asparagus and burrata and san Marzano tomatoes on a...delicious crust. Pizza bruschetta?! Wonderful crust. We enjoyed the zucchini strip pasta with clams and ravioli with goose meat. Great presentation.More

In one of Italy's prosciutto capitals, it was a real treat to dine in this exquisite restaurant that really knows how to leave an impression. After 3 days in Montagnana we had already dined at a few restaurants, tasting the local specialties and typical dishes....We not impressed. What's so special about this ham? Well, we would have never known had we not dined at Aldo Moro! As guests of the mayor, we were treated to an array of local cuisine and prosciutto culture that we will never forget. The typical spaghetti with local ham is a real charmer. Please get the tasting menu and mixed antipasti. You will really love this place!More

We drove to the beautiful walled city of Montagnana on a day trip. Our guide book mentioned the restaurant Aldo Moro as a good place for a moderately priced lunch so we gave it a try. We were seated in the garden and just had...the most wonderful lunch! The service was excellent, to the point that our water was able to speak a bit of English. He suggested local specialties, helped us decide on a good bottle of wine, and explained that Montagnana is noted for its prosciutto. We had an appetizer of melon and prosciutto and it was delicious. The rest of our meal was just wonderful! Each plate was worthy of a photograph, artfully arranged. When we said that we didn't have room for dessert, the chef came out with two simple, beautifully arranged fresh fruit, cream, and gelato plates complimentary. If you ever are in this area, definitely visit this fine Italian restaurant. You won't be disappointed.More

I don't really know the eating out habits of Italians, and I appreciate that most may not have Montagnana on your tourist radar (it's a pretty enough walled medieval town, but not many things to see beyond that), but we had this excellent restaurant almost...to ourselves on a Friday night. If you like food, then make a detour via here. The town itself has a reputation for excellent ingredients, ( has had a ham festival already, and had a melon festival coming up) and the Restaurant Aldo Moro uses them to great effect. We were initially going to have two courses, but ended up having 4 - it's that good. Excellent service - gracious and efficient. The decor may seem a little dated to some, but it's clean, and in good order. If you're in the region, put this on your trip. If you like what you eat (and you will), there are various shops in the town selling similar high quality produce....More
