We’d explored Montebenichi earlier in the week and bumped into the Chef Gino, it looked like a lovely place for dinner so we booked it for our last night. Such a great call, the adventure started when Gino picked us up from our Villa at the bottom of the hill!! Food was delicious, vibe was wonderful – we lucked out... More

I had the Steak Fiorentina, which was excellent, but the best dish was the grilled pork chops. They also made a very tasty birthday cake for our group.

Operated by a wonderful family, this father and son business provides the best in authentic Tuscan cuisine. The family, as members of the porcupine contrada, share stories of participating in the Palio di Siena, the horse race in nearby Siena. If you are sitting on the patio on a clear day, you can see the medieval town of Cortona in... More

A fellow guest at our villas highly recommended this restaurant to us and we made the beautiful drive up the hill to Montebenichi to dine at this exquisite restaurant. What a delight to discover such excellent food and service in this out of the way small village location! We were staying in the Castelnuevo Barardenga area, only a short drive... More

When staying at the Castelletto di Montebenichi we always visit this restaurant run by a father and son. The atmosphere is welcoming and the food is first class. Situated two to three kilometres off the main road, up a hill in Montebenichi it is worth the drive to find it. Obviously if you are staying in the Castelletto you can... More

The food is spectacular!!! In fine Italian fashion, there is no rush, your table is your's for the evening. What is most memorable is that Osteria l'Orciaia is run by a family that is very welcoming and personable-a member of the porcupine contrada that will regale you with stories from the Palio, the horse race in Siena. We have very... More

Hard to beat the setting -- a little "town" on a hill in the middle of nowhere, with a full, blue, harvest moon perched tableside. The cingiahle chop was divine; greens were a but uninspired, but next to the pork we hardly noticed. Veggies were fresh and firm, even if the chicken came across as unremarkable. Service was friendly, attentive... More

Warm welcome - escpecially when the chef comes out to wish everyone a good evening. Excellent, simple but delicious Tuscan food. All the courses from the antipasti, to the delicious homemade pasta through to meat then desserts was just outstanding both in taste and value for money. The lovely Polish waitress added to the experience as her spoken English is... More

Lovely location, very good food and friendly staff. The homemade pasta with pork ragu is especially delicious. the prices are very good, and the house wine tasty. It is unpretentious and the perfect place for a family meal, with friends or as a couple. Nothing to dislike.
