Group of four cooking lessons at a 2 star Michelin restaurant. The entire event lasted about four hours. The chef instructed us and provide much needed assistance. We prepare a three course meal, which was excellent. Our menu: gnocchi with smoked scamorza, tenderloin medallion in...bread crust, frivolezza of white chocolate and citrus. The chef plated each course and we ate and sampled several red wines. The experience was wonderful. The staff were amazing.More

This is a beautiful restaurant on the grounds of the fabulous Don Alfonso Relais and Chateau hotel . The whole grounds of the property feel like an oasis of serenity. The restaurant has a wonderful feel of calm and the promise of an exceptional experience....That promise is abundantly fulfilled by the incredibly creative and delicious food that is served by the attentive and professional staff, and by the greeting and care offered by Don Alfonso and his wife and sons, themselves. Thank you for the whole experience of discovering and completely enjoying such a treasure!More

Eight of us ate here. First we were given a tour of the wine cellars and the historical tunnels leading back to Sorrento. Fascinating. Our table was outside which was nice, but it was very long so we were very spaced out. This is a...very fine dining restaurant. The staff are friendly but very precise/formal. Several amuse bouches were terrific as was the rest of the meal. A lovely place but bear in mind it is expensive - for us, approx €170 per head including wine, cocktails. Both of the owners came out to talk to us during the meal which was very nice. Also as we departed the lady gave us gifts of home made sauce and pasta. A lovely touch.More

It was my first Michelin ** restaurant. Plan on spending 200 € per person, lean back and enjoy every bit. Owners and staff very personable and not at all aloof. Many little surprises from the kitchen thrown in between courses. Maybe a once in a...couple of years experience for people like me, but no regrets about coming here. My wife and I still have flashbacks to some of the dishes, like the little eggplant dish or the hazlenut semifreddo. How do they pack so much taste in it?! Bravo, bravissimoMore

We have been celebrating special occasions at Ristorante Don Alfonso for many years. Despite our familiarity with this restaurant, the atmosphere, staff and location always make this a special event. We generally go with the longer tasting menu, Le Degustazione, which is perfect in length...and extraordinary in delivery. Of all of the places to which we have travelled Don Alfonso remains our favorite.More

Impressive dinner - with utmost professionalism (e.g., with respect to special dishes for guests with allergies). The owner is a charming lady and fantastic host. We felt truly welcome. Little idea for improvement: the service was super spot on a d highly professional. Connecting a...bit more with the guest, would be the icing on the cake!More

Visited as a group of 4 recently and sat in the beautiful outdoor terrace. One of the most fantastic meals I have ever had and a true culinary experience. We opted for the traditional tasting menu which I would strongly recommend. One of the highlights...however, has to be that this is a family business with the owners personally greeting customers and coming around for a chat throughout the meal. This is not a stuck up or pretentious restaurant which is rare to find and the Don Alfonso team truly value their customers with a warm welcoming family approach. Ask to see the wine cellar which is a fascinating experience! We will return without a doubt. Book this - you will not be disappointed.More

This was a magnificent and truly delicious experience. Every detail was perfectly crafted and every bite was an explosion of flavors, though maintaining the south Italian cuisine tradition. Don Alfonso and his son both introduced themselves and were truly interested in speaking to the guests....We had the Traditional prix fix and loved every course. The service was second to none with staff catering to every need and desire. The Wine cellar is historic, dating to BC and totally worth a visit. The place has a garage making it easy to park. Would love the opportunity to go back.More

The best restaurant I’ve ever eaten in! We had the tasting menu and every course was amazing. The service was perfect. We were crying that we couldn’t finish the magnificent desserts! Beautiful ambience, location and spotlessly clean. There was even a live TV screen to...let you see the chefs at work. 11 out of 10 stars!More

I think we were lucky to get in here, having booked in early August following the covid-19 pandemic. I imagine you’d have to book well in advance any other time of the year. We booked having read reviews on TripAdvisor and this place certainly didn’t...disappoint! Nestled in a small village in the hills between the bay of Naples and Bay of Salerno, this truly is one not to be missed. This is fine dining at its best. You are warmly greeted by the family and team. We arrived an hour early and were allowed to take cocktails in the gardens, even thought the staff were clearly preparing for the evening’s bookings. The tour of the wine cellar and Library are great, you’ll be amazed at the wine cellar and the caves that extend underground into a secret passage. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service to match. The staff were attentive and undeniably professional, we didn’t go with the tasting and choose from the a la carte and we were glad in a way we had. Alongside the starter and main we chose each (all of which were fabulous), they also brought out breads, a selection of amuse bouche, petit fours and Limoncello. Am not sure we could fit anything else in! I can highly recommend the Vesuvius rigatoni, it was to die for, and the lamb for main was also excellent. A nice touch is that you are greeted during your meal by each of the owners and Head Chef. We came away feeling like we’d been welcomed into someone’s home, but an exquisite one at that with the most amazing food and experience. Our only tip is to book in advance, this is a gem hidden in the hills. You can also stay in the hotel for 500EU a night, but we stayed at the Relais Blu approximately 20 minutes away which was amazing. Don’t hesitate to book!More

Tucked away at the top of the hills overlooking Sorrento, this gem was worth the Taxi ride and the cost of the Dinner, not cheap, but you won't be disappointed, everything was perfection and all the Staff very welcoming. The rooms are beautiful.
