I think we were lucky to get in here, having booked in early August following the covid-19 pandemic. I imagine you’d have to book well in advance any other time of the year. We booked having read reviews on TripAdvisor and this place certainly didn’t...disappoint! Nestled in a small village in the hills between the bay of Naples and Bay of Salerno, this truly is one not to be missed. This is fine dining at its best.
You are warmly greeted by the family and team. We arrived an hour early and were allowed to take cocktails in the gardens, even thought the staff were clearly preparing for the evening’s bookings. The tour of the wine cellar and Library are great, you’ll be amazed at the wine cellar and the caves that extend underground into a secret passage.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service to match. The staff were attentive and undeniably professional, we didn’t go with the tasting and choose from the a la carte and we were glad in a way we had. Alongside the starter and main we chose each (all of which were fabulous), they also brought out breads, a selection of amuse bouche, petit fours and Limoncello. Am not sure we could fit anything else in! I can highly recommend the Vesuvius rigatoni, it was to die for, and the lamb for main was also excellent.
A nice touch is that you are greeted during your meal by each of the owners and Head Chef. We came away feeling like we’d been welcomed into someone’s home, but an exquisite one at that with the most amazing food and experience. Our only tip is to book in advance, this is a gem hidden in the hills. You can also stay in the hotel for 500EU a night, but we stayed at the Relais Blu approximately 20 minutes away which was amazing. Don’t hesitate to book!More
