Lovely food prepared and presented with extra special twists. This menu was slightly more expensive than others we have come across whilst holidaying in Crete but the food was definitely worth it. We had calamari, sea bass and the strawberry salad, all excellent- would highly...recommend for an extra special meal.More

We visited this evening and found service to be sadly lacking. My starter of tempura shrimp was delicious. Firm fresh shrimp in light crispy batter. The white bread, similar to focaccia was really nice, but the golf ball sized brown bread was as hard as...a rock! Our order for main courses was placed incorrectly, so my partners steak arrived, but I was brought the wrong dish - which then needed to be cooked, whilst my partner ate his main course. Basic apology, but no offer of complimentary drink for the inconvenience. We enquired which cut of beef the steak was, but were told by the waiter he didn’t know. No offer to find out. My spare ribs arrived, but were mainly bone; hardly any meat at all - and what there was tasted dry. The French fries were in fact like hard, thick crisps. These were cold. The waiter asked if I had enjoyed the spare ribs. It was evident that I hadn’t from my plate. I explained although the tempura shrimp was very good, the spare ribs were not. No comment. Plate removed. No apology or offer of something different or a deduction on our bill. We won’t return and couldn’t recommend.More

Amazing restaurant with local mediterranean food. A few things to point out, firstly great location, i asked foe the catch of the day but the owner explained that what he saw at the local market on that day was not up to standard so decided...to not integrate it into the menu, everything is home made from the bread to the complimentary dessert and raki. They even mention on the menu that one of the shell fish pasta on the menu is frozen which shows hoensty and transparency and lastly the kitchen is open and visible which for me is always a good sign. Apart from that great staff, friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely happy when you say that you enjoyed your meal. Visit with no hesitation !!More

We enjoyed the food. We tried different dishes and the mains were really good! We had dinner around 8pm so you can see the sunset which is nice and romantic. Nice view to palaiochora.

My sea bass with green vegetables was delicious. The problem was the service. Too busy? Not well organized? Or was it that we ordered too little? (Two mains, an appetizer and a bottle of retsina, 38€ in total). The point is that basically they served...us and then ignored us. Our dishes were evidently empty, but no one came to lift them or ask if we wanted something else. We had to wait a while to catch someone's attention and get the bill... That took still 10 more min. to come and then a while more, because I wanted to pay with credit card. All of this under the wind that was getting annoying (it's all outside tables there). You can say, "well you were probably indulging yourselves in raki while waiting"; well, no. This happened to be the only restaurant in Crete where we have not been offered a small dessert on the house with a shot of tsikoudhia after our meal. The restaurant seems to be appreciated by the local people, which is what leads me to wonder if this disaffection was due to the fact that we are evidently foreigners.More

Made a reservation for our last night. Wanted something special, well it was special but not in the way we wanted it. Welcome was fine, bread was brought quickly and it tasted very well. We were in a good mood! Ordered a bottle of wine...and ordered 2 starters and two mains. After half an hour the starters arrived, the mussels were delicious! Then we started waiting and waiting for more than an hour. Some people who wanted a table were sent away because all the tables were reserved. When we left after 22:30 still all the reserved tables were free! There was just half of the tables occupied. I think it was because of the capacity of the kitchen, they couldn't handle half of the tables! Hubby had pasta with steak tartare, he said it was just OK. I had the spareribs. Believe me I am an expert for I love them but I have never had such a bad spareribs. They were cold and i think not even touched a grill but just pulled out of the plastic and put on a plate. I told the waiter and his only reaction was that he will tell the kitchen. I did'n eat a quart of it. The waiter (owner?) who fist was so kind and welcoming started talking to an older lady who belongs to the restaurant as well for half an hour. He didn't see that we wanted the bill or other people wanted their food. It was a chaos. After another half an hour we got the bill and a very small complementary dessert. We left disappointed (even more disappointed after visiting the dirty toilet) and paid € 75,00. Not worth this money.More

A more ‘upmarket’ restaurant than most in the town. It has modern and stylish tables and crockery. Also some trendy spotlights which shine directly and uncomfortably in diners’ eyes but which leave the food in gloomy shadows. The food was well cooked & presented and...really delicious, but the service tediously slow. Why does it take 15 minutes to get the bill and another 15 before they can come and take your money? Irritating when you want to leave and go to bed after a tiring day’s walking. (Also, the ladies toilet door would not fasten or lock and the seat had fallen off. This is 2019, time to move out of the 1960’s!)More
