Rather Functional

A rather “functional” atmosphere about the place with a feeling that its aimed at the tourist and, given the speed of service, I don’t think they expect you to hang about. It’s certainly not a quaint relaxed French eatery. That said the food was fine, nothing spectacular, nothing bad just good... read more

A fairly functional restaurant. The food was OK but a little pricey for the quality. The Barman seemed to take delight in making as much noise as possible So that has lost it a Star in my rating

We had stopped in Ouistreham whilst waiting to board the ferry back to the UK. Maybe we had been spoiled by the excellent quality of the restaurants in Saumur but we were greatly disappointed by our meal at Le Menhir. The decor is tacky and jaded, with tatty menus. The service was okay for speed but certainly wasn't dynamic. The... More

We had dinner here on a Friday evening. The service was quick and efficient, the staff speaking both French and English. We looked at most of the menus of restaurants on the street and Le Menhir seemed to have the best selection. The food was delivered quickly and was well prepared and presented. We both had superior crepes for desert... More

We stayed in Honfleur, but having visited the area three times previously knew there was only one place we wanted to eat. The mussels in cream are to die for, good staff, well sighted venue so outdoor eating is in sunshine and sheltered when it gets a bit windy. Lovely friendly staff, offering good food at all levels. No rushing... More

We ate here several times and were not disappointed with our choices. Quantity of food stopped us eating more than a sorbet for dessert. Not opened on the Monday of our stay.

On our last evening in Normandy we dined at Le Menhir,Scallops and Crepes were fantastic, very good and polite service. Our only regret is we did not find Le Menhir before. You dont have to take my word for how good the meal was, just go.

Walked around Ouistreham looking for a place to eat. Found this place in the pedestrian mall and it was packed to the rafters ! ( Always a good sign) We had Turkey breast escalopes in a delicious sauce with home cooked chips and salad with a great dressing along with a pichet of decent wine. Recommended.

We were a family of 7 (four kids!) and Le Menhir fit us in for a 7:00pm reservation. My husband and I both ordered mussels and commented how they were the best mussels we've ever had. The kids had kids meals for 9.5 euros a piece, which I thought was massively high priced for what they got. The waitstaff was... More

We have dined here several times and it is a regular haunt for us during the D-Day anniversary period each June. The food is usually very good (especially onion soup!) and the prices are quite fair. Service varies depending on how busy it is but it is never poor. Would recommend to anyone.
