This place is great, we went twice! The first time we had a corn appetizer with al pastor tacos and it was all pretty good. The second time we had barbacoa and chicken tacos, again with the corn appetizer, which was super tasty (the one that comes in a bowl)! Our server confused us on our drink order stating margaritas come in either .5 liter or 1 liter. The .5 liter was a drink in a normal glass with ice, the 1 liter came in a carafe and ended up being 4 drinks (and cost 4x). So be careful with that... but if the weather is good they have a great balcony and patio area to eat!

This place is affordable and delicious!!! After enjoying the free chips and salsa and variety of tacos we had to ask if the owner was from the states, and sure enough! Not just the states, but from Texas, of course!!! Great vibe at this corner spot on the main triangle of Santa Elena/Monteverde. Awesome draft beer and an incredible variety of sauces at all spice levels. Also really enjoyed the Watermelon Lime and Mint fresca as well. If you are in Monteverde, this place is a MUST!!! I promise you that you won't find free chips and salsa anywhere else in that area!

We were greeted with free tortilla chips and the house salsa to start. Next, we ordered two of the fresh pressed juices which were the stars of the show. I highly recommend the watermelon/mint/lime juice as it is extremely refreshing. For the meal, we got pork tacos and chicken enchiladas and we were pleased with both. Also, the service was quick and friendly making it an ideal spot for lunch.

this was probably the worst restaurant we experienced. the wait staff were a bit "spacey" the prices were not cheap. when we questioned that the food served did to match what had been described on the menu used when ordering, the wait person left and came back admitting that they had run out of the missing ingredients

We had such great food in Costa Rica, but this spot did not measure up. I had veggie tacos, and they were very bland -- basically steamed veggies in flour tortillas with no seasoning. My niece had small tostadas that were fine, but nothing special. The food took a very long time (about 45 minutes). Maybe they happened to be overwhelmed, but in the end, this was the most unremarkable meal we had during our trip, and expensive for what you got. Our server seemed new - he had trouble taking our order and never checked back with us until we needed to track him down to pay.

We went to taco taco following the reviews. Location was easy to find and had pretty views. The interiors were colorful and place had a chill vibe, we chose to be seated outside. They got us started with chips and salsa sauce served in a bottle, salsa was amazing!! We are vegetarians, so we picked avacado taco and vegetarian burger. They had run out of all vegetarian appetizers. The taco was delicious and filling. Burger on the other had a coconut oil kinda after taste which we didn't enjoy as much (1 star down for that). Servers were great and overall we enjoyed our experience with the beautiful fog going in and out and seeing the weather during the course of our meal.

My wife and I both ordered burritos, both were brought to us stone cold. Not even slightly warm. Our apologetic waiter asked if we would like them reheated in the microwave! Ermm no! We asked for new ones...now you would think they would ensure the replacements would be perfect but to our horror the fish in my wife's burrito was RAW!! She took out the raw fish and we both ate what remained of a pretty average tasing burrito. When the waiter came over to take the plates we told him of the raw fish. He took the plate away and returned with the bill. He said nothing and put the bill in front of me showing that the fish burrito had been removed from the bill. No apology, nothing.Terrible service and place. The beer I had also asked for never came which was good because we couldn't wait to leave. I left $20 which was $20 more than what this place deserves.

Kind of a disappointment. It is high season but expected better service. We asked the waiter for water three times The tacos were cold when they did arrive. We also asked for spicier salsa and that never came. You can do much better in this town than here

Taco taco in Sta Elena is a great place to visit for tasty food or a short stop for a refreshing beer. The waiters were very good with a good range of food available. Highly recommended for an enjoyable lunch or evening meal.

We ordered the chicken fajitas for 2. When they arrived they were warm at best (probably should have just send them back straight away) but we were hungry. As soon as she set the food down I asked for a pot of sour cream and an extra pot of cheese as we had barely enough for one wrap and there were 6 small Wraps between 2. She said yes, then didn't return, I waited 10 minutes and asked someone else. He also didn't bring them. After about 20 minutes I asked a 3rd person. Who eventually brought the cheese and sour cream at this point we has been waiting 20 minutes and had eaten most of our meal and it was pretty cold now. When I went to pay they had added the sour cream and cheese, which I understand as they were extra however we had waited so long for them we has basically finished our dinner, which I explained to him that I would have happily paid for them if they had actually came when I had originally asked. He took the sour cream off the bill - but made me feel guilty about it saying he would have to pay for it now. It was busy - but your food and service should be the same whether you are busy or quiet. We are on our honeymoon and this almost ruined what had been a lovely day. Everything was very rushed no-one came back to check or ask if our food was ok, just trying to get more people in the door.

Tacos were okay and way too expensive for the price. Our tacos were served luke warm too. The fried avo taco was the most interesting. For the price they charge they should at least make homemade tortillas which I think could up the game. Chips they served with the tacos were stale. Service was good.

Read about this place in various tour guides: good food and good prices is what they promised. Not sure if it’s changed post covid. Don’t really agree. Tacos were at best ok (flour tortillas), enchiladas were grim. Watery goop, not really to my taste. Flavoursome but lacking any refinement. Beers (draft) were quite (relatively) expensive if not bottled, and the Margherita was ok Get a sense this place is all about tourist throughout, table turn. Worst meal we’ve had in CR, not awful, just hurried, unloved and very simple food served in smallish portions at Florida prices And rammed with tourists ….. not to our taste. More a road stop grab and run, had expected a bit more Wouldn’t return 4/10

We stayed in Santa Elena for three days. We picked taco taco for our first lunch. Both of our lunch orders were very tasty and delicious. The sauce that came with the enchiladas was particularly delicious. Enjoyed the chips. Good options for Vegetarians. TIP.. ask for hotter salsa if you like heat!

We went on LP recommendation and the place was packed for dinner. The atmosphere is cozy and youthy whilst the receipt is enthusiastic. It took a while before our order was served to our table, but with some natchos and enough happening around us it was fine. Both the taco and empanadas were luke warm (and thus were left standing). We were offered a discount straight away on our remarks. Besides that the taco was little stuffed and dry, where the empanadas were drowning in sauce. Perhaps taco taco is becoming a victim of their own success? There are better price/quality options in town.

We dumb – lucked into this place and so glad we did. Sooo authentic. Camilla was our waitress and very helpful and friendly. At first the homemade salsa seemed spicy but we ended up devouring almost a half bottle of it. Just go there!
