A nice and romantic diner at Thaproban. You are on the beach with cosy lights. The staff is really nice and dynamic. You can choose a fresh fish and enjoy your meal under the sky.

This restaurant was spectacular. The tuna was world class - caught fresh the day of and prepared to your liking (along with other fish and seafood options). Best Tuna I've ever eaten. The manager, Alex, has worked in Italy and truly understands fine cuisine and customer service.

If you want mouth watering seafood then come here! Seriously some of the best food you'll get in Sri Lanka. The tuna steak is so good it will make you question want you really want from life :p Very accommodating and friendly staff. Excellent location, tables on the beach, sound of the ocean only metres away. What's not to love?

I have been in so many restaurants around the area and this was the best restaurant I ever enjoyed. Food was so nice and the service limit is unforgettable. Defiantly will be back.

They have a beach house restaurant (Thaproban) where you can pick your own sea food and dine on the beach: magical and delightful. We had perfectly prepared medium-rare tuna steak. Great service.

We stumbled across this restaurant that has the most beautiful location on the beach. Seafood on ice is displayed to choose from (pay by weight) and then cooked to order. Our whole fish, calamari and prawns were delicious and served with salad. There are also menu options available, but we could not go past the fresh fish. Service was attentive... More

After eating here 3 times this week I can't believe some of the negative reviews. The service was great and they couldn't do enough for us. All up this place is a great restaurant, with excellent quality fresh fish at very affordable prices, The fish market is excellent value for money; you select what you want, the staff weigh it... We only ate here once even though we were staying at the hotel. Prices are very reasonable, service fabulous, and the setting s nice. My meal was awful.....I would expect fish and chips to be fresh in a coastal area, instead it was overcooked frozen fish fillets and burnt oven chips

Thaproban was one of the more elegant places located on Unawatuna beach, staff were friendly and the food was delicious, only set back for us unfortunately was the prices, however you can't expect anything less from a high end restaurant. Overall, lovey experience

We went here for lunch and had to deal with a moron who was probably the worst type of staff I'd ever met. I couldn't get his name. The idiot told us not to dine in their restaurant only because we were locals. Discrimination at the highest level. The other staff then came in to apologize on his behalf but... More
