Decided to pop by for a lunch as there was hardly any place opened on that day. Nice setting with the tables overlooking a patio- the place was tastefully done. Unfortunately the experience is ruined by the poor food quality. Dont get me wrong, tbis...is not a cheap place but for what you get, you’d expect better plating care. While my wife and daughter had the view, mine was overlooking an old dishwasher laid on concrete bricks from the bar area. The nice Vatel trainee was on the dot (serving an infused candle when ordering a fish dish etc) but the senior waiting staff did not seem happy to be there. At one time, the food was taking long, as a result i look at the direction of the kitchen, seeing your waiting staff wiping his sweats with bare hands and furthermore, rubbing his back wasnt a nice sight. The place could really rock with better food quality, better presentation of food- some more passion thrown in to be short. At this rate, you could get many options available for a much better experience.More

I went to Onya for dinner with my boyfriend on a Friday night. The restaurant is situated on the coastal road, it’s a beautiful standalone house. The decoration is very lovely, the paintings on the wall gives the island feeling. It’s a chic place but...definitely not uptight. The service was very good and fast. I only had a non-alcoholic drink because I had to drive. They have a cellar and a small bar. The food was exceptional. I had fried cauliflower as a starter, it was crispy and tasty. And for the main course I had the fish of the day with mango sauce and cauliflower puree. It was really very good. My boyfriend had magret as starter - very yummy too and he took the venison (côte du cerf) and it was very tender and delicious. We shared the dessert - pineapple tatin with ice-cream very good as well! We will definitely be back again♥️🤤🤤More

Had a wonderful evening out with the family. The food was great! Really enjoyed the slow roast pork with the ginger and the pineapple tart tatin with homemade coconut and lime ice cream was sensational :)

The restaurant is relatively new so it would be only fair to make allowances but on the whole our meal - apart from the roasted goat - was mediocre. A noble ideal to only serve local produce but to be told that we could not...have olive oil is stretching it a bit! Will try it again in a year or so.More

Wonderfully crafted food! Australian Chef and wife. Really creative cooking, of a very very high standard. I had Curried Octopus croquettes to start, which were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Main dish was Belly of Pork with a Ginger Gel on the side. The...pork was so succulent and oozing flavour with perfectly cooked crackling on top. The Ginger gel ( instead of the normal apple sauce) was out of this world. The mix of this gel with a mouthful of pork was a sensational and original flavour combination ( for me). This guy really knows how to cook. A great and humble guy to boot. He made a point of coming over to chat, which is a sign of a confident chef. The chef's wife was adorable and catered to our needs in a very courteous and professional manner also made us feel very special. The cocktails are fantastic and full of booze unlike a lot of cocktails we have had here. This is a fairly new restaurant in Mauritius. DO not hesitate this is a must place to eat and drink! You will not regret it. GOOD ONYAMore
