This place is a secret extraordinary restaurant that combines winery and food , had the tray of rabbit and sordfish and meat with each wine to match , food to die for , taste to die for. This place is a perfect end or a great start

This was a must stop on our New Zealand adventure after seeing a quick spot on it on the internet. It was most certainly worth our time and money. Quinn was one of the most attentive servers we've ever had without being intrusive. We ordered, and loved, the suggested flight of wine along with the oak stave and cheese plate.... More

We had the oak stave 5 dish platter for 2 and had the wine flight to go with it. The food was delicious and the wine matched it perfectly. The food is cooked in old oak barrels which give a subtly smoky flavour. You do have to access the restaurant by walking a narrow but solid bridge over the gorge,... More

We found this place whilst driving a long the road. What a "great find". We had a cheese platter which was so good, & I had a glass of Wild Earth Chelsea Reisling. I wasn't sure which wine to have & they were only to happy to let me try 3 different wines to see which I liked best. Service... More

A great venue for a group meal and the 5 plate 'oak stave' is a great meal to share. Very tasty and interesting combinations. Wild hare, venison cerviche, goat on a pea mash, salmon. The other feature dish is the meat, which is smoked in barrels. You can choose between 1 - 4 different meats. Very generous and tasty but... More

Advertising shows open until 5. we arrived at 2.30pm and order the food and wine tastings, after traveling we were still a bit hungry and so we then went on to order another course they took our order and came back and told us that the kitchen closed at 3 and we couldn't order another course. When we pointed out... More

Highly Recommend - Great Experience in a rustic but comfortable setting. The service was friendly, attentive, & professional. Food was tasty & interesting - we had the house specialty, stave of smoked meats - great variety and beautifully presented, with little salads & matching wines. Portions were generous with plenty to satisfy meat eaters.

We were referred to this restaurant by a family member and we are very pleased that we went there. We had the Stave tasting platter which was amazing and coupled with a matching wine platter. Very nice staff and 10/10 for the meal and presentation. You walk across a suspension bridge from the car park with great views down onto... More

Our groups were invited for lunch at this nice winery after jet boat activity. Owner is from Los Angeles and he gave us very warm welcome. Wine and Food matching are the concept of this winery and restaurant. Trust me, you will get great experience here.

This winery/restaurant/tasting room is an absolute hidden gem. Cant recommend more highly. The service is warm and professional, the room itself is very cosy.
