We only stopped off for a drink after coming down off the rock but I would definitely eat here given the opportunity. Despite the fact it was a cold January day the place was packed. Dog friendly which is a bonus. I was served straight away despite it being busy and there were about 6 bar staff on duty. No... More

We stopped here for lunch after some canoeing on the River Wye. The staff were so friendly and both bar and table service were quick. The food was delicious, just what we needed, and the location along the river is perfect. Will definitely return if we are in the area again.

What's not to like about this pub!!! A fabulous location right on the banks of the River Wye, right by the hand ferry, and a great place to take your time in enjoying some food and drink. We visited several times to enjoy the varied menu and try the good choice of beers. Wish it was my local!!

Great place to finish a walk. Obviously undergoing a re-furb but this not effecting service. Good beer and food looked great too.

Just paid a quick visit after promising to return as the nice lady let us have change for the car-park a couple of hours before. Day after boxing day and we sat in front of the log burner with two very nice hot chocolates. Nice staff, and clean loos.

Booked well in advance and glad we did the pub was packed despite the inclement weather. Service was attentive and friendly without being over bearing. The food was amazing and plentiful, all 6 starters and mains as advertised and very generous portions. The sweet menu looked great but alas no room for any of us. The roast beef is amazing,... More

It was very busy the weekend we were there so we were glad to get a table. The place is charming and quirky and our seats were like wooden pews. Lovely touches like fresh flowers on the table local butter and delicious bread. Food was lovely with the exception of the gravy with the sausages which had been over-reduced and... More

We visited the Saracen's Head on Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd January 2017, having made sure of the opening hours and that food would be available. A pity, then, that when we arrived, the food service was so under-staffed that there was already in excess of one hour delay, and the person in front of us in the queue to order... More

We absolutely love the Saracens Head and recommend it unreservedly. We usually stop for a welcome break on the fantastic circular walk from Monmouth, making a slight detour to the SH for lunch. But the Monday before Christmas we made a special detour to break a car journey on the round trip from our home in Midsomer Norton to Builth... More

It's a pub and the restaurant is an extension to it. Staff are efficient and great for a beer. Dogs are allowed in the more pubby areas but the difference between the pub and main restaurants is not to different. Great pause after a really nice walk.

Thank YankeeKC
