Called in here twice during our two weeks in the beautiful Wye valley and both times we left very impressed by the food and the service. On our first vist, sunday lunch, we were told that there would be a long wait for hot food as there wer so many people there. This was politely explaine so we ordered sanwiches... More

Given Symonds Yat is such a popular place you would think that the pub might not be great. Mel you have a surprise as the pub not only serves great beer it also has excellent food, that well worth stopping by to enjoy. My favourite time of the year is autumn and Spring , when the sun creates some warmth... More

Scenery amazing, efficient and helpful staff, great food, great wine, lovely walks along the river, canoeing available at a great price, dog friendly! What is not to like! It does get extremely busy in the summer so we often visit when not peak season, but we love it! Well worth a visit

Just spent two nights at the Saracens Head, wish it could have been more. Room 10 had amazing views. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Ate both nights in the dining room, ample portions, well presented. Breakfast was equally as good, with superb choice of fruits followed by a varied hot menu. All staff from the beginning to the end were... More

We walked down from symonds yat and sat in the sun with drinks and had some food. The food was tasty but pricy. A must visit if you are in the area.

Just wonderful , perfect setting , great choice of drinks , super looking menu ( didn't have time to try any food) . Loads of places to sit outside and inside is full of charm , we often visit en-route to Cardiff .... Would definitely recommend a small detour to find the great pub - rooms also available

Symons Yat is the English version of Mount Rushmore - big crowds expected. The bar prices are reasonable but long queues irritate customers. Food at lunchtime is limited and when we ate, as a group of six, rationed to 6 small cubes of chicken in a coronation baguette. Toilets unacceptable, paper over a wet floor due to two second blast... We visited on a hot Monday evening with a party of 10. After an encouraging start (a table had been reserved for us in an air conditioned room) and being served with our drinks, we then had to wait almost 2 hours for any food. The staff were extremely apologetic as they were very busy. But when the food finally... More

We ate here in mid July expecting a table in the bar and were very pleasantly surprised with our dining experience in the restaurant. The service from the very young waiting staff was friendly, though a little variable on speed and attention (we ate there 2 nights running), The food was seriously good - the cheese soufflé made with the... The bar arrangement and service was excellent. Two of us went to dinner on a quiet Sunday evening and had to wait an hour for the food, which was a disappointment when it did arrive Whilst we plan to revisit the area we shall never eat at the Saracens head again.
