We ate here on the 21/07/20 dinner for two. Unfortunately we were half an hour late for our booking, when we rang to say we would be late they said we could still come but we would only have the table for an hour and a half. Meaning each table reservation is for 2 hours, we deemed this too short for a relaxed 3 course evening meal with drinks.
Besides that upon arrival we were kindly greeted at reception and promptly taken to our table through the very well presented restaurant with an authentic asian theme throughout.
Our French waiter was very attentive and explained the menu to us with genuine interest which certainly enhanced our experience. Some other waiters weren’t quite as good, as we had to re order our drinks after waiting 20 minutes and nothing came.
Now for the main event... the food
Wow were we blown away. We began with the prawn crackers with an irresistible olive tapenade and the crispy spring rolls, both of which were faultless ( We are big fans of spring rolls and these really lived up to our expectations). For our mains we got the, Crispy duck with pancakes, oh boy was it crispy we even went as far to say it was the best crispy duck we had ever had as there was no fat which you sometimes experience, simply meat. We also went for the Vietnamese fried chicken, we felt this was our least favourite dish as it was like a small chicken nuggets with some herb dip (wouldn’t recommend). As a side we got the prawn pad thai, we both agreed it was very flavoursome but was too big for a side and although the portion was large it only had 4 prawns in it.
By this point we had been at our table for 2 hours and hadn’t been asked to move, so we were pleased.
To finish off although my wife was too full, i managed to squeeze in some raspberry sorbet. Great pallet cleanser.
Overall brilliant restaurant, with lovely food and ambience. We would highly recommend and will be returning very shortly...
All the best,
D&J

I really don’t know where to start.
A 25-30 min taxi from Bossa here, thought we were lost but it really is in the middle of nowhere.
We booked a table for 11pm, as it was the only time left, and was seated promptly. The restaurant was full. The vibe was just right.
Our server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He recommended we had the tasting menu, which if my memory doesn’t fail me, was 9 courses for 95€. Not cheap, but some of the best food I’ve ever ate. It just kept coming and coming.
A highlight of the meal was the Wagyu Beef Burgers in Bao Buns, I’ve never had wagyu beef so good in all my life. The curry was beautiful, as was the crab, the ribs are unreal and the beef salad. All the food is good!!!
The bamboo huts which we were seated under, and the incense burning all around added to the amazing atmosphere in the restaurant.
It’s now a staple for my ibiza vists, and I recommend it to everyone who asks.
Only thing I would say, is order your taxi before your bill. It takes so long to get a taxi as it’s away from main resorts, but the place is so worth it!!
A beautiful place!!

My fiancée and I went to Bambuddha on a Thursday night. It was very busy.
We waited 50 minutes to be seated which we didn’t mind too much as we had a drink in the lounge but then we were seated in the most uninspiring area of the restaurant (At the back left side away from most other tables/buzz) and sectioned off by plants so you can’t see much.
Considering how amazing the decor and environment is we were not pleased to be sat so far away from the main buzz of the restaurant. It felt like we could have been anywhere.
There were two other tables sat near us, both of them demanded to move and I noticed were both moved. I likened it to being sat in the car park, you could kind of hear and see what was going on but you weren’t really involved. The only thing about this back corner of the restaurant was that it provided kitchen access. Otherwise I wouldn’t have said it was a nice enough area to have tables.
I gather that no one wanted to sit in this are as everyone was complaining around us also.
We were moved tables after requesting a few times and having been there nearly 1hr 15 mins at this point. We would have left if they didn’t move us.
When we moved our seat was so much better and in the beautiful setting, our server was fantastic and passionate and really turned our evening around, we were so grateful that he was our server (sadly didn’t get his name) but our night got much better. We enjoyed the truffle gyoza and some other nibbles, black cod, Laksa curry. All of the food was delicious and black cod is not the newest dish on any menu but they genuinely do a great job of it and we loved it!
I would recommend this restaurant for big groups, or couples but just be sure to specify where you want to sit as it will change the outcome of your experience.
All in all it ended as a great night we just wish it started out better.

My partner and I attended this restaurant just the two of us for what was sold to us a real exciting culinary experience, unfortunately we were left very underwhelmed. We started with the papaya salad and the seafood and beef dumplings. The papaya salad came with no papaya, I pointed this out to the waiter and in fairness he did bring over some papaya to put in the salad but there was no apology and it was still very bland. The seafood dim sum in fairness were nice but the beef ones were lacking any flavour. Next we had the bao buns, the crab and the beef, the beef was of good quality but was lacking any imagination on the accompanying filling. The soft shell crab ones were nice and had a little more going on. We then moved onto the short rib beef which was of good quality but very overcooked as we had asked for medium rare and it was cooked through with no pink at all. For mains I had the massaman curry and partner had the Korean fried chicken, to be fair the lamb in my massaman was beautiful and melted in the mouth and my partner said he enjoyed his fried chicken pieces. For desert we shared the black moon eclipse which tasted like a toddler had been let loose in the kitchen of a cake shop, absolute no balance of flavours what so ever. The bill came to €259 for the two of us and I did not drink alcohol and my partner had two drinks. I would not waste your money visiting this establishment unless you throughly enjoy being underwhelmed in cheaply decorated restaurants that attempt to market themselves as a destination spot. On another note Antoine one of the waiters at the restaurant was full of energy, passionate about food and very charming, completely wasted on this venue.

Please don’t fall for this tourist trap. Food is less than average with pre-made sauces, salmon was not fresh and portions are small at best. For those who know, Nothing to compare with Buddakan, Sushi Samba or Nobu but same price for 1/4 of the quality.
When I wanted to returned my “fresh caught” salmon GM came to my table trying to persuade me saying that it wasn’t bad, but I didn’t like it. Pretty clear that he hasn’t tasted his on food in years or his palate discerning is off.
You will be better off trying other more authentic places like Aubergine rather than this copycat pretentious poor quality tourist trap.

Waited over 1 hour for the food and got asked to leave the table shortly after eating because we exceeded the time limit (which was due to the fact that the food took forever). The service was not good and the manger of the Restaurant Manager was very unfriendly. Would not recommend

Second time I have been here. Service this time was really haphazard. Kept bringing things we didn’t order. 2/3rds of the food came out in 5 mins and then the rest after about 45 mins except they forgot one dish. They tell you to order 2-3 dishes each so we ordered 5 between 2, but it was too much food. Because the food is lots of different Asian styles we ended up with stuff that really didn’t go well together. Ended up having to get up and pay after waiting with a card in my hand for 15 mins after being given the bill. Ambience is nice, but I would not come back….

We were anxious about coming here as the last few reviews weren’t brilliant, but decided to give it a go.
The venue is out of town and as we approached, there was a great sense of anticipation. Simply wow. What an entrance. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who invited us to the bar area to have a cocktail, as we were 20 minutes early. It’s a very boutique establishment, very cool, great decor, trendy but relaxed.
Cocktails were sensational well worth €15. We were led to our table, amazing! Great views of the restaurant, not too close to other tables, but close to share the vibe.
The service was terrific. Ordered a lovely bottle of wine, which came promptly. (Good selection with prices for all budgets) we ordered 5 dishes to share.
The presentation and quality of food was excellent. Just like every Asian restaurant, dishes came out when they were ready. There was no extended waiting and we did not feel rushed. Perfect timing.
The sommelier helped us pick a bottle of Sake, again selection to match every budget and no pressure selling.
There was no time pressure on the table. We settled the bill €220, for 5 dishes, 2 cocktails, 1 starter, bottle of wine, bottle of Sake. Absolutely value for money for this standard of restaurant. (Better value than many venues in Ibiza Town)
We had a few more cocktails in the garden area and lapped up the ambience.
Taxi came promptly and we departed thoroughly satisfied.
100% visiting next time.

Expectations were high. We were promptly shown to our table by friendly staff and decided upon the 100 euro per person tasting menu which gave the opportunity to sample many of the best dishes. We started well with good oysters (an addition to tasting menu) and the three initial dishes of tuna, beef and dim sum all were OK, just OK. Then we had the king crab but ruined with an overly spicy chilli marinade, standard ribs equivalent to your local Chinese, waguyu burgers equivalent to white castle sliders that needed seasoning. We added black cod..which was pretty good to be fair. Then dessert which if you like eating off the floor at your local odeon then is fine but slightly old popcorn along with some wishy washy panda cotta and a deconstructed cheese cake they managed to deconstruct the flavour out of.
And.... the ambience was well interesting, pretentious beyond anything I have ever experienced in ibiza. This place really is a showground for the pumped up wanna bees. I won't be returning. Disappointing. So much potential in the menu and styling but food was a miss for us.

Should have known it was going to be gimmicky when we saw valet parking was available from a car park opposite the restaurant! The setting and lighting was amazing and the service was good initially, although the different explanations on how much we should order was very confusing. Also there wasn’t much direction on which were starters and which were main courses. The food was nice but pretty average - the crispy beef wasn’t crispy, it was almost raw and the Vietnamese chicken was like dry chicken nuggets. The waiter decided to start clearing our food from the lazy Susan before it was finished and a couple of us were eating.
The total bill was 500 euros for 6 of us - we felt ripped off and won’t be returning.

You expect the best when you visit this restaurant which we have been to on every visit to Ibiza. Certainly, it has suffered with the Covid restrictions. Lack of atmosphere and the normal buzz you get here. That is understandable but the poor service can't be blamed on the pandemic. A real lack of attention exacerbated by the fact that they failed to deliver a surprise birthday desert despite calling them to arrange that and notifying the waiter at the table. The staff seemed very disinterested which has never been the case on previous visits. On a positive note the food was excellent both starters and main course. Can't comment on the desert as we gave up waiting to be able to order that. Hoping this is a one-off experience because you are paying a lot for the food without the service.

Such great food and lovely service! We visited in August so be aware as you will be dining outside it can get extremely warm. The restaurant has fans on the walls but in the peak of summer it was a little uncomfortable. Great ambiance. Service was good considering it was a busy Saturday night too. Waiter forgot to put through our salmon but it turned out we had plenty of food already so it wasn’t a big deal.
Really recommend!

We have been coming to this restaurant for years now and it is still very nice. The food was good but I found it very expensive. The mini wagyu burgers, 2 , the size of a 2 euro coin for 22 euro is just too much. The sushi is still among the best I have ever eaten.
I will probably go again next time when I am in Ibiza.

Very disappointed with Bambuddha - was our first and will be our last visit here. Portion sizes are very small and ridiculously overpriced. I ordered the Malaysian scallop curry, was expecting a main dish for the price and instead received two very small scallops which cost me just shy of 30 euros!! Dessert was just a few mouthfuls on a huge plate, which didn’t match the description on the menu. Lack of aircon also made for a hot and uncomfortable evening. Toilets not well signposted, took us 10 mins to actually find them and had to direct a few people on our way who had got lost! Also find it very odd that there is a lot of pornographic imagery and paraphernalia everywhere - in the menus, in the toilets, on the walls; however this is not explained, so the whole aesthetic just seems off. There were also lots of families dining there with small children so didn’t seem appropriate. Nice setting, lovely cocktails and staff very friendly / attentive, just a real shame that this place is let down by overpriced, distinctly average food.

Arrived early as a family for dinner. It’s fair to say this isn’t really our kind of place - so We have to take some responsibility for booking in the 1st place.
Service is overfamiliar which can be a bit cringe. The maitre d’ touched our 9 year old unsolicited which to our mind crosses the line. Not in a creepy way but neither in a way we felt confortable with. We were also pressured to order wine.
Food was fine, nothing special. The pricing was something else. Ibiza is not a cheap place to eat and drink - we know this. But Bambuddha takes the biscuit. €18 for a papaya salad smaller than a side salad was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
The pricing would be offensive in a restaurant with a sunset view of one of the best beaches on the Island. Bambuddha is in a field in the middle of the island with no views and visibly tired decor. At half the price this would be a decent enough if slightly tired fusion restaurant. But there is no value to be had on the menu.
It’s a mystery to me how a place like this has survived for more than 20 years in an island with such a dynamic and excellent culinary and entertainment scene.
I guess there’s still a cachet around the name and perhaps loyal customers who return over the years. Good luck to them.
