Seafood antipasti and pasta dishes were really excellent quality. This restaurant is large but fills up with families and large parties from 9pm onwards. House wine is good value.

We chose to visit here on the recommendation of Trip Advisor. It was an excellent choice. There was a very varied menu and the staff explained where we didn't understand the Italian menu. We had made a reservation and we were invited to choose where we wished to sit. The fish we ate was very fresh the port being only... More

Locals eating here is recommendation enough for this unfussy, busy trattoria. The seafood is uber fresh, the Sicilian platter we ordered for starters was extremely tasty and sword fish mains I had was tender and scrumptious. The red house wine (served chilled) is nothing special - there's no fancy wine list as it's not a top class restaurant after all... More

We came late evening, almost at 23.00, almost empty restaurant, still we were attended. Ordered black pasta with calamari/sepia, and deep fried seafood mix. Just excellent. For those two dishes and a beer we paid 37EUR, so it is a little bit expensive. Worthy to try

First, we love food the slow way, but this was ridiculous. It was not crowded. When we ordered less than three piatti, the waiter ridiculed us, is that all? The food was bland, not fresh. We were intentionally ignored. Had to borrow napkins from another table. Flagged down a bus girl for more wine. We're friendly, try to speak Italian.... More

Let's be clear from the outset: the food here is absolutely outstanding. The fish dishes (including the pasta dishes) are delicious, and worth a trip. Service is friendly although somewhat informal. The restaurant's decor is somewhat simple, so that one would not consider it a fancy place. But if you concentrate on your food you won't be disappointed!

We called in here for lunch and ended up staying 4 nights in the hotel, the staff and food were fantastic. We were made very welcome, and the staff were extremely helpful. We stayed for New Year's Eve and they booked us a table for the evening celebrations, we had a huge 15 dish dinner which was a fish festival,... More

Andrea's Il Pirata is a first class restaurant and we were treated like family. This restaurant served fresh seafood caught daily and presentation and taste were amazing. The Trupiano family restaurant is full every night with faithful customers who have come to enjoy this quality of dining and friendship. They are open every night, except Mondays. We stayed here on the recommendation of a friend in Oceanside, Ca, whose brother happened to own Il Pirata. Only 15 minutes drive from Palermo airport in the small town of Cinisi, is the best kept secret on what fresh fish should taste like while in Sicily. Try the Involitini pesce spada-why don't they make this in the States. The... More
