This is outstandingly good food for a roadside place.
How can this be tucked away almost in the middle of nowhere? This is big city high cuisine in super down to earth cozy package.
I will come back for sure! This place completes my magic snack triangle consisting of Der fette Hahn, Nievenheimer Grill and Big Hug.

Really easy to find, stands out you know your in the right place, walked inside the decor is amazing, the whole ordering and help yourself thing is just genius! My partner had the pulled pork baked potato, I didn’t know what to have so chose the motherload! Every bite was different the flavours were incredible! The creamed corn is to die for! The meat was the real star of the show my spare rib bone fell out of the rib! Would highly recommend as it’s a brilliant place! The owner explained it to me at the counter he handed me a queen of hearts card, instead of numbers restaurants sometimes give you, he the said, come up here to order, if you want anything else just get it, made me feel so at home and was completely comfortable In there! Amazing place would go again!

As easy as it is to find a BBQ place in any Southern US state, finding one in Europe is close to “unobtanium”, let alone a good one.
So, we were all the more pleased to receive a recommendation to check out Big Bug BBQ and to satisfy our non-vegan cravings for a hunk of cow and pork.
Big Hug does BBQ right! Good quality meat, good smoking flavors, tasty home-made sauces and side-dishes, very fair portion-sizes, friendly service and basic, but comfy environment. In short, the perfect place to pig out.
We sampled the entire menu and liked all dishes. I particularly enjoyed the ribs and spicy sausage. They also offer a range of micro-brewery / craft beers, which added well to the overall taste experience.
We will definitely be back when next in that region and recommend Big Hug BBQ to anyone who wants to experience proper American-style BBQ in Germany.

BBQ ribs, baked potato and pulled pork. Doesn't get any better than that. Friendly staff
and very tasty food. While visiting Germany, this is a favorite go to place and a must
for our vacation.

It's a little hard to find, but well worth it. The pulled pork sandwiche was as tasty but juicier the my usual barbeque place in Texas, and the potato salad was classic German.
It's right beside a small hotel, so when your nav computer says that you've arrived, and all you see is the hotel, pull in there. It's next door.

Rustic ambience, typical BBQ. In the warm months you can sit outside on the veranda or on the roof terrace. The food is freshly prepared, the meat is smoked in-house, the ingredients are regional and high quality, which I think is especially important when it comes to meat. Against this background, an absolutely good price-performance ratio. It is always advisable to reserve a table on the website or call before visiting.

Super nice staff. Has an answer to all questions and is always approachable even when the house is full.
The food is really good, especially the meat and coleslaw.
You can still feel the old street food character because everything is served in cardboard bowls. Dessert lovers won't get their money's worth here. (The ice cream had been in the freezer for a bit too long) But honestly, who orders dessert here?! Better an extra portion of mac and cheese or the smokettes.
Overall great.

We drove there with great anticipation after an hour's drive. And I have to say we were not disappointed. The food was really great, as you can see in several pictures. We will definitely come back.

Standing in line and zero service. The food was OK, but completely overpriced. 300g of spareribs for €18 without side dish or sauce costs extra.
